It was quiet, eerily quiet, in the rainforest when I arrived, taking the front rotte and pausing before my loft. I stood beneath the rain and exhaled.

I had left the hospital behind, but I carried her heart with me, because somewhere between confession and kiss, she handed it over and now it felt like I owned it.

I still couldn’t wrap my head around it. She actually confessed her feelings for me.

Swallowing, I walked inside, stripping off my fur coat and hanging it up before heading to the counter to pour a drink.

I sighed softly as the red liquid filled the glass, but before I could take a sip, a notification crimed.

I pulled out my phone to see a text message from Gafi.

‘Deal done boss. He took the bait.”

I stared at the message, still, silent.

I knew exactly what this meant. An unspoken declaration of war that would stretch far if Feroz was truly as unhinged as his reputation suggested.

As the Godlike Mafia King, I ruled the criminal world across territories.

My first rule was simple. Rape was forbidden. It made my skin crawl; it made me snap. It dragged up memories no one lived to repeat.

We trafficked humans and werewolves but never without consent.

I’d run the illegal trade for years, and everything I did was kept minimal, controlled, non-violent, until someone crossed a line.

Then I became something else, quiet violence incarnate.

Tonight was that moment again.

I respected Feroz for fighting to avoid prison and lock away his secrets but abandoning the salesman on cold concrete wasn’t the way.

A man who turned out to be my own brother.

Thinking about Yasmin’s situation made my blood boil deeper.

I stared at the wine for a heartbeat before the world blurred.

I tossed back the drink in one swallow, then headed for my closet, stripping as I moved.

New clothes. Trousers, shirt, leather jacket.

Boots laced tight. Then I headed to the metal room..

I pushed the door open and stepped inside, going straight for the section of lethal toxins.

With my Leather gloves on, I lifted a dart case. Three darts. Enough.

I dropped it into my backpack and moved to the gun rack, selecting a fine rifle, zipped it in, grabbed my keys.

The elevator carried me down to the underground garage.

I scanned the rows until my eyes settled on the black car ahead.

A click and the headlights flared.

I got in, tossed the backpack into the backseat, and drove out, shooting through the tunnel and into the night.

The highway was deserted as always, but the city swallowed me fast.

Soon, the sacred rise of H.O.W.L Street appeared but I didn’t pull in.

Instead, I parked at a farther block, calculating the cleanest roof for the shot.

I didn’t search long before my eyes found the perfect vantage.

Rifle and darts in hand, I exited and climbed to the terrace.

The city sprawled beneath me; H.O.W.L towered like a throne.

I waited, eyes fixed on the building, for that bastard to show, just as Gafi arranged buy Nothing.

Seconds dragged, turning to Minutes that bleed.

I grew impatient, glancing toward my watch when engines roared below.

I looked down the street and there he was.

Hal.

He looked older than me, bitter-eyed, and arrogant. Two cars shadowed him.

They stopped a block away, scanning frantically, no doubt for Yasmin.

“She is there!” one of his men yelled, pointing.

I followed the direction, saw a woman at the entrance of H.O.W.L and it clicked.

Gafi did well.

A decoy so perfect that if I didn’t know better, I’d think it was Yasmin myself.

fely gaze shifted to Hal.

He gritted his teeth and charged toward her, believing he’d found his prey.

He walked fast, heavy, every step closer not to Yasmin but to death.

I unzipped the bag, retrieved the rifle, loaded the first poisoned dart. and aimed.

The moment he reached H.O.W.L’s entrance, I fired.

The dart whispered across the wind and sank into his exposed neck with a faint click.

He froze, just steps from the woman.
