The True Heiress Reborn And Slays (Alicia Delaney) novel Chapter 618

Chapter 618 Twisting the Story

She shook her head faintly and let out a dismissive snort. “Teresa… Always put on that good- girl act, but who would’ve thought she’d be so reckless? Just because her grandfather called he out in front of everyone this afternoon, she had to go drown her sorrows in alcohol? Goes to show she never really had her head on straight.”

She sighed, lowering her voice. “Doesn’t she know how much Wilson values the family’s image? Now she’s caused a scene right out in public-in the middle of the day, on a downtowr street—and ended up with cops and an ambulance involved…”

Miranda didn’t finish the thought. She shook her head slowly, a touch of genuine pity in her eyes.

Not long after, Wayne began to come around, having taken the special detox drink. Rubbing his temples, he looked worn out-the throbbing headache from the binge still lingering.

Miranda, sharp as she was, still had a soft spot for him. She quietly asked the kitchen to prepare a bowl of hot oatmeal and brought it up to him.

Wayne could read the disapproval on his wife’s face. Knowing he’d messed up, he offered a guilty grin and tried to shrug it off. “Man, the whiskey they keep in this house… hits different than what we’re used to. Every time I touch it, it knocks me flat. The hangover’s brutal.”

Miranda shot him a sidelong glance. She didn’t stop pouring the oatmeal into a bowl, but let out a quiet “hmph,” completely brushing off his excuse.

Wayne chuckled awkwardly, having gotten nowhere. He picked up the bowl and began to eat, letting the steam hide his embarrassment.

Later that evening, not long after dinner, the butler approached Wayne in a hurry. He gave a slight, respectful nod, his tone polite but unusually grave. “Mr. Sander Torres would like to see you now. He said there are some family matters he needs to discuss with you in person.”

Wayne nodded, rose to his feet, straightened his jacket, and followed the butler toward Sander’s private study at the rear of the estate.

Riley and Sebastian returned to their room. They had just changed into more comfortable clothes and hadn’t yet settled in when Sebastian’s phone buzzed.

It was Wayne, and his voice carried a tense edge. “Seb, get to the back study. Sander wants to ask you a few things.”

Sebastian’s brow furrowed slightly-something felt off. He turned to Riley. “Dad needs me over there. You should get some rest; don’t wait up.”

When Sebastian pushed open the door to Sander’s study, the respected man was seated in the main armchair. On either side of him sat several senior family members, their expressions stern. Wilson was there too, his gaze fixed sharply on Sebastian as he entered.

Wayne looked uneasy. A thin layer of sweat glistened on his forehead when he saw his son walk in.

“Sebastian,” Sander began, his voice measured, “when Teresa ran into trouble downtown today… is it true you were there as well?”

Sebastian stood straight, meeting the elders’ eyes without flinching, his tone steady. “Yes. Riley and

d gone downtown to pick up some detox supplements for my father. As we were noticed Teresa didn’t look right. I was concerned she might be in danger, so I

o check on her. I was the one who called 911.”

nder could respond, Wilson cut in, unable to hold back. “You just followed her? else happened between you two?”
