Chapter 626 Night Flight Höfue
“Wayne, Seb, I truly apologize” His voice was steady, but it carried the weight of exhaustion. “My dad and Marina haven’t been in a good place mentally these past few months. We had already arranged for them to enter a private wellness retreat, but they managed to slip out and caused all this drama for you. I’m really sorry about this.”
“You disrespectful little punk!” Wilson suddenly shouted, his voice trembling with panic. “What are you talking about? There’s nothing wrong with me!”
Inside, he was genuinely scared.
Sure, he’d been calling the shots at home for decades, but his sons had long since taken over the majority of the business and real authority.
His only remaining leverage was his position as the family elder and whatever respect that still commanded.
If his eldest son really decided to go through with it today-to have him quietly placed under care under the guise of treatment- there would be little he could do to stop it.
Marina wanted to scream that she wasn’t sick either-she was still clinging to the hope that her granddaughter would marry up and change their fortunes!
But the moment she opened her mouth, Celia’s sharp hand came smacking down across her lips.
“Keep quiet!” Celia shot her a cold, hard stare. Decades of bottled-up contempt left no room for sympathy for this woman.
‘You never stick to your treatment plan, and now you’re out here having an episode and embarrassing everyone! Look at the mess you’ve made for the Torres family!”
Then she glanced toward her security team.
They understood immediately. Several large men stepped forward, firmly taking hold of Wilson and Marina, muffling their struggles and curses.
Just like that, the two of them were escorted out, faces filled with terror.
Their son turned back to the Torres, apologizing once more. “Again, I’m so sorry for all of this. And don’t worry-we’ll handle Teresa. She won’t be bothering Seb again.”
With that group gone in a hurry, the ridiculous scene finally came to a clean end.
The living room fell quiet. Wayne’s furrowed brow relaxed slightly.
He looked at his daughter-in-law and his wife, half-amused and half-exasperated. “So… you two were just putting on an act in here?”
“Of course!” Miranda’s face softened completely, not a trace of anger left. She walked over to Riley and said warmly, “There’s no way I’d actually be that kind of nightmare mother-in-law and pick a fight with Riley.”
Riley explained the plan. “I pulled Miranda in there mainly to buy time so she could contact Celia and the others right away. Since this is their family’s internal issue, it’s cleaner if they handle it themselves. If we’d been too heavy-handed and just thrown them out, they could’ve spun it as us bullying them.”
