Too Late To Love Me I Already Left With His Twins (Lydia and Dave) novel Chapter 156

Lydia POV

After the entire chaos with Dave yesterday, I had made a very firm decision in my head.

Firm. Final. Emotional boundary level firm.

He was not seeing the kids again until their birthday.

Because honestly, I could not keep doing this emotional rollercoaster where one minute I was theoretically co parenting and the next minute I was one sentence away from dragging someone into court. 2

I was tired.

Properly tired.

So I went to bed that night telling myself distance was peace.

And then I woke up the next morning to two tiny humans standing directly over my face like miniature investigators conducting a wellness check.

“Good morning, Mom,” Ava said softly.

I blinked awake slowly.

Eli was already climbing onto my bed like he financially contributed to the mortgage.

“Thank you for yesterday,” he said seriously.

I paused immediately.

“Huh?”

Ava nodded beside him with unnecessary sincerity.

“Yes. Thank you.”

I sat up slowly, confused already.

“Wait. Hold on. Thank you for what exactly?”

Eli looked personally offended on my behalf.

“For everything.”

Ava crossed her arms lightly.

“The gifts. The countdown. The effort.”

I stared at both of them for a second before rubbing my forehead tiredly.

“Eli, I am not getting you a grass cutter.”

Eli gasped dramatically.

“I never said I wanted it today.” Y

“And the Disney trip,” I added quickly. “I do not know about that either so please stop emotionally preparing yourselves.”

Ava frowned immediately.
