That
That woman.
I opened the door quietly and immediately saw her still deeply asleep, wrapped dramatically in blankets like she was emotionally recovering from war.
I folded my arms.
“Hello?”
Nothing.
“Hello, ma’am.”
Still nothing.
I walked closer.
“Wake up. It is morning already.”
Anna groaned without opening her eyes.
“Babes… leave me alone.”
I stared at her immediately.
“Please this is not your house.”
She opened one eye lazily.
“My husband is not here, so now you are my babes temporarily.”
Inearly choked.
“Do not call me that.”
“It comes naturally,” she said proudly. “Do you know how sweet our marriage is?”
I pointed toward the door immediately.
“Please leave my house before sunrise.”
She laughed tiredly and buried herself deeper into the blanket.
“I’m not going anywhere.”
“This woman…”
Eventually she dragged herself out of bed while I sat in the corner chair scrolling through articles on my phone waiting for her to finish getting ready.
A few minutes later we headed toward the children’s room together.
And honestly?
