"Name."
The single word echoed through the dark room.
It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t threatening. Yet it carried a weight so overwhelming that the temperature in the room seemed to plummet.
Florine’s entire body shook beneath Xander’s bloodshot eyes. There was no room for bargaining. No room for excuses.
He wanted one thing—the truth.
Sweat rolled down her temples as her heart pounded violently against her ribs.
She tried to hold on, but under his unwavering stare, every ounce of courage she had left crumbled.
Her lips parted.
"...Gavin Emerson."
Silence.
For a brief second, nothing happened.
Then—
Thud.
The chair scraped sharply against the concrete floor as Xander rose to his feet.
Florine flinched so violently that the chair beneath her nearly tipped over. She had expected relief. She had expected him to finally believe she was cooperating.
Instead... he slowly walked toward her.
One step. Then another. Each measured footstep echoed through the room like the countdown to an execution.
Before she realized it, he was standing directly in front of her.
He leaned down until their faces were only inches apart.
Florine stopped breathing.
His eyes were empty.
There was no rage.
No hatred.
No mercy.
Only absolute indifference.
"You were warned," Xander said quietly.
His voice was so calm that it terrified her far more than shouting ever could.
"I gave you a chance."
Florine’s lips trembled.
"I-I..."
"You chose to betray it."
A tear rolled down her cheek.
"I was desperate..."
"So was my wife."
His words struck harder than any slap.
Xander straightened his back.
"When you drove that knife into Ivy..."
He paused.
"...you made your decision."
Florine shook her head frantically.
"No... no... I told you everything. I gave you Gavin’s name."
"I know."
"Then... then you’ll let me go?"
For the first time since entering the room, the corner of Xander’s lips lifted ever so slightly.
It wasn’t a smile.
It was colder than that.
"You misunderstand."
Florine’s face drained of color.
"I didn’t ask because I intended to reward you."
He looked down at her as though she were nothing more than an inconvenience.
"I asked because I wanted to know who I’d be visiting next."
Her breathing hitched.
"As for you..."
He turned toward the steel door.
"...you’ll spend the rest of your life in this cell."
Florine’s eyes widened.
"What?"
"No!"
"You can’t do this!"
The heavy door opened.
Panic consumed her.
"I still have to save Nora!"
"And France!"
"They’re my children!"
"Mr. Emerson!"
"You promised if I cooperated—"
"I never promised you anything."
His voice interrupted her without a trace of emotion.
Florine froze.
Xander didn’t look back.
"You lost the right to ask for mercy the moment you showed none."
The steel door slammed shut behind him.
Bang!
Darkness swallowed the room once again.
"Mr. Emerson!"
Florine threw herself against the restraints.
"Mr. Emerson!"
"Please!"
"Don’t leave me here!"
"I told you everything!"
Her desperate screams echoed endlessly through the concrete walls.

Outside... no one answered.
Xander walked through the underground corridor without slowing down.
Taylor followed several steps behind him, struggling to keep pace. No one dared to speak.
The atmosphere around Xander was suffocating.
It wasn’t anger. It was something much colder.
Something that made even the most loyal members of Phanton Group instinctively step aside as he passed.
When he reached the exit, he stopped.
"Gavin’s place." Those two words were enough.
Taylor immediately nodded.
"Yes, Boss."
Within seconds, half a dozen black SUVs roared to life.
The convoy sped out of the underground garage and disappeared into the city.
Only after the vehicles were gone did Veronica finally release the breath she had been holding.
She pressed a hand against her chest.
"What... was that?"
Hunter looked toward the now-empty entrance.
He remained silent.
Veronica swallowed.
"I swear..."
"...it felt like Death himself just walked past us."

Crash!
Edward sat on the bench with Leo beside him, both of them staring at the glowing red "Surgery in Progress" sign above the doors.
