"And when he tells you to open your legs, and you do," Tasha asked quietly, "do you enjoy it?"
I stared at her for a long moment, and the honesty of the question deserved an honest answer. I nodded. "Yes. I enjoy it a lot. But it doesn't matter. I'm doing all of this for you. I found Sparrow because of you. Because he was the only one who could keep you safe. He was the only one who would go to war with Bryan for you.
I told you before, I did all my research. I knew there was bad blood between him and Bryan. I could have gone to someone else, but the possibility of them taking up this fight was too slim. With Sparrow, I knew he would take the chance, because of his history with Bryan. That's why I came here.
Every single thing that is happening is to keep our end of the deal. And remember, Big Bryan is still out there. He's still alive. He's still a threat. I am no match for him, and neither are you. We still need Sparrow's protection. So for now, let's just do our best to keep him happy."
Tasha nodded slowly, but her eyes were still searching mine. "Okay. But I still want to know. Why were you so relieved that I don't have any feelings for Sparrow?"
I sighed. "Because Sparrow can be very cruel sometimes. Listen to me, Tasha. I looked into Sparrow a lot before I came to meet him. He can be kind. He has his own principles, and he can be decent too. But he can also be very, very cruel. Trust me. When he wants to deal with someone, he does not hold back. He doesn't care whether you're a woman or a man."
"You speak with so much certainty," she said quietly.
"Yeah." I nodded. "He's dealt with so many men, I know that for a fact. But when I looked into it recently, I found out how he dealt with a woman."
"What woman?" Tasha leaned closer. "What did she do to him?"
