Chapter 521
“What secret? What else are you keeping from us? Spit it out.”
“I can’t say.” Finnían stood up, looking visibly relaxed. “I should go apologize to Julian first.”
“Finnian, you’re treating us like outsiders, aren’t you?”
Finnian smirked. “I’m not, but this is one secret I want to keep to myself
for now. I’ll share it later.”
Quentin and Chad looked at him in surprise. They hadn’t seen him smile so easily in a while. Had some massive piece of good news landed in his lap?
Miles Kendrick returned from abroad. Two months of academic exchange made him miss home–cooked meals.
Tonight, the Kendrick family hosted a small dinner party to welcome
Miles back.
The Kendrick family had always been highly disciplined. The cousins excelled in their own fields, with virtually no family discord or infighting. This was thanks to their ancestors, who set a strict rule three generations ago: the family must stay united to fend off external threats. Furthermore, the Kendrick family had a centuries–old rule–men who married were forbidden from being unfaithful. Anyone who violated this would be expelled from the family and lose all support.
This allowed the Kendrick family to thrive and prosper to this day.
Because of this, the men of the Kendrick family were highly sought after. Countless socialites wanted to marry them.
“You’re back.” Julian Kendrick walked down the stairs, wearing a dark gray loungewear set. Holding a glass of water, he leaned against the banister and lazily watched Miles walk in.

“Yeah.” Miles looked at him with a warm gaze.
“Come upstairs, let’s chat.” Julian lifted a finger and turned back up the
stairs.
Miles followed him to the casual balcony on the second floor.
“What’s been going on? You look like you’ve lost weight.” Miles was a doctor, and paying attention to the people around him was an occupational habit.
“No, I haven’t. You’re the one who lost weight. Couldn’t get used to the food over there?” Julian sat on the sofa, smiling as he studied him.
chuckled. “It definitely wasn’t as good as the food back home.”
an nodded, tapping his finger against the armrest twice as if weighing
s words.
Miles sat nearby, taking a sip of water.
“Something on your mind?”
Julian looked up at him. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, “Did you know that Kaia and Finnian got divorced?”
Miles’s fingers froze on his glass. He looked up, stunned, as if he had been struck by lightning.
Watching his reaction, a smile curved on Julian’s lips. “Looks like you didn’t know.”
“Are you serious?” Miles’s voice dropped, seeking confirmation.
