When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 143

She was done with Sebastian.

Whether he smiled or not, Sebastian was stuck there holding it in, completely frozen.

He could handle it. The others, not so much.

“Out!”

The moment their lips started to curl into even the slightest grin, Sebastian barked the order. A second later, everyone—including Noah—filed out of the room. Their laughter echoed down the hallway, open and unrestrained.

The girl’s face darkened even more.

I came all this way to treat you, and this is how you treat me?

Sebastian handed her a glass of water himself. “My condolences. Just get me back next time.”

Her chest tightened.

She tossed her backpack aside and pulled out a case of needles. “Didn’t I say I’d give you treatment?”

The needles gleamed coldly.

He genuinely thought she was about to murder him—but for some reason, he wasn’t scared at all.

He went upstairs on his own and lay down. “Be gentle,” he said.

But he didn’t undo his belt. Didn’t take off his shirt.

Furious, the girl yanked hard and popped off two buttons.

Hand-carved gemstone buttons—ten thousand dollars apiece. Pricey.

Sebastian just looked at her, saying nothing.

Expressionless, except for the faintest twitch at the corner of his mouth.

“Watch yourself. Don’t strain your hand.”

She checked his pulse and started inserting the needles—anything but gentle today.

The air was thick with some strange, intense scent, mingling with the subtle sweetness unique to her. It was both exciting and oddly calming, especially with her little face puffed up in anger.

For a moment, Sebastian really wanted to poke her cheek.

“If you want,” he said suddenly, voice hoarse, body shifting uncomfortably as if something inside him was ready to break free, “I can send you another dime.”

“No thanks!”

Like she’d stoop to accepting a measly ten cents?

If she was going to scam him, she’d do it fair and square!

The way she looked made it impossible not to feel something. Sebastian’s body reacted.

And things… got awkward.

Just as she was working on that particular area, Serena looked down, then looked up at his face.

Sebastian’s voice was a little colder now. Right then, Zayden walked in and accidentally locked eyes with him.

Weirdly, a wave of guilt hit Sebastian hard.

It took Zayden a few seconds to realize Serena was inserting acupuncture needles.

His face turned pale. “Serena, what are you doing?”

Serena rolled her eyes at him. “What does it look like? I’m treating him.”

Her face screamed I’m in a bad mood, so back off.

Zayden opened his mouth to say something else, but Sebastian kicked him out.

Outside the door, Zayden stood there, chest heaving. He wanted to say something—anything. The words made it to his throat multiple times, but each time, he swallowed them back down.

He couldn’t treat Sebastian. The Miller family couldn’t either. All their hopes were pinned on the mythical Ghost Doctor.

But could Sebastian even wait that long?

Zayden deflated completely.

He crouched at the door, silent.

Never in his wildest dreams did he think he’d one day hand over his most precious patient to a girl who walked out of a therapeutic massage shop.

He, a dual PhD from Regency University, the Chen family’s golden boy, had turned himself into a complete joke.
