Chapter 1178: Chapter 1178: King of the Future

As Kira predicted, the next morning Sherry and Elsworth showed up at the Sector Security again.

Last night’s events were strange. Using Sherry’s card as a medium, Kira succeeded in conversing with Z-ONE—a fruitful exchange. But from everyone else’s perspective, it looked bizarre: the card was analyzed by a supercomputer, then the dimension split apart, the world spun, and everyone blacked out. When they woke up, they were lying on the grass outside the building.

Naturally, they returned to ask "Goodwin" what happened.

Kira didn’t mention Z-ONE—instead, he said he, too, had been teleported elsewhere, leaving out the conversation with Z-ONE.

Sherry was a bit disappointed. The trip seemed fruitless, but one thing became clear: Kira had proved her "Z-ONE" card held extraordinary power—possibly dimensional, able to warp space, and instantaneously displace people. This supported Kira’s claims and convinced Sherry to further consider the notion of time travel.

He returned the "Z-ONE" card to Sherry—it was currently unusable, essentially a "time machine key" with no effect written on it, entirely dormant.

And since he and Sherry were building an alliance, and she wasn’t a villain abusing dueling, it was only right for her to keep her father’s only memento—no reason for Kira to greedily keep it.

Otherwise he’d be known as a "card snatcher," always stealing others’ decks and ruining his own reputation.

Sherry left, but her eyes burned brighter than before. If before it was only revenge that fueled her, now it was hope; she’d glimpsed the future she wanted, not just an outlet for rage.

Kira predicted she would now go all out to get closer to Iliaster.

After sending Sherry away, and dismissing his underlings (including a bootlicking Lazar), Kira went alone into the forbidden area of the Sector Security, returning to the supercomputer.

Nobody else knew—the space here had been ripped open since yesterday. Invisible to the naked eye, but the barrier was weakened, with a new invisible crack in the void.

Kira summoned BLS, who slashed open the crack, making a doorway just large enough for one person.

Kira stepped inside. After another flash of light, he was back in the infinite white space—the same as before.

The nautilus form of Z-ONE appeared.

"Thanks for your help with the clown problem yesterday," Kira said, clapping his hands.

"So, let’s talk about making me the final boss. What’s the script? Am I going to play the Ultimate Dark Signer, summoning the Ultimate God to open the Gates of the Netherworld and destroy the world?"

"You can, if you want," Z-ONE replied casually.

"But first, there’s someone who wants to see you."

A ripple spread through the white space, and a new figure materialized.

He wore a blue bodysuit, with signature red goggles. Kira recognized him at once.

"Antinomy?"
