Chapter 6
Sophie’s eyes glossed instantly, and I fight the urge to roll my eyes.
Urgh. Talk about being so goddamn sensitive.
“I’m not trying to be meat, take this as an act of kindness…”
“Then don’t.” She whispered.
But was I going to listen to her, absolutely not.
“Look, Landon gets bored, he always has. He’ll have his fun, realize it’s not what he wants, you’re not worth it, and find is way crawling back.”
“To you?” she asked quietly.
I smiled. “Do I need to spell it out for you, Sophie, dear..” the silence stretched between us, as a tear slipped down her cheek. I exhaled, already over it. “Are we done?”
She nodded quickly, stepping back like I might actually hurt her, then turned and walked away fast, almost a run.
Does she have to be so freaking dramatic
I rolled my eyes and turned back around. Right, Caelum. Except, he was gone.
“Are you serious?” I muttered, scanning the hallway.
Great, just perfect.
Now I had to hunt him down, again.
I moved quickly, cutting through side corridors until I finally spotted him standing alone at his locker in a quieter hallway away from everyone.
Of course he was.
I slowed my pace, adjusting my posture as I ran a hand through my hair. If I was going to do this I was going to do it properly.
By the time I reached him, he was just closing his locker. “Hey.”
He flinched slightly at my voice, turning to look at me, then annoyance hit his face almost instantly.
Charming
“What do you want?” he asked.
Straight to the point. I respected it.
“I wanted to check on you,”I said lightly.
His brows furrowed, “Check on me?”
I leaned against the locker beside his. “I heard about yesterday.”
He went still for half a second, then. “What are you talking about?” he said, too quickly.

I gave him a look. “Olivia Gonzalez,” I said. “Ring a bell?”
His eyes widened, and just like that, panic. “How do you know about Olivia and I” he muttered.
I smiled faintly. “What if I said she told me?”
His brow crease. “I know… she didn’t. Olivia isn’t the type to….”
Aww, look who is all trusting
Cute
I guess that’s why he got his tiny little heart broken
But that was not the point

I wore a smirk, one that was very much taunting, to make him think she actually did it. “Yet she turned you down, for…was it Jason Whitaker”
His jaw clenched and unclenched, letting me know I had striked a cord. And as much as I wanted to tease him more with the truth, I wanted to get things over and done with.
We were working on limited time here.
“Relaxe, she didn’t tell me.”
My brow creases when I spot the relieve on his face, and I fight the urge to roll my eyes at this.
“Then how did you…”
“Caelum,” I cut in softly, “I know things.”He stared at me like he didn’t know whether to be confused or concerned. Probably both. “I’m just saying,” I continued, tilting my head, “that couldn’t have felt great.”
His expression hardened. “I’m not discussing this with you.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s none of your business.”
Fair but irrelevant.
“You liked her,” I pressed. “A lot.” My words were met with silence. “And she turned you down because, what was it?” I tapped my chin. “Oh, right. Your lack of experience. Sexually.”
His face heats up at this, turning red in embarrassment. “Stop.”
“Or what?”
“I mean it, Delilah.” His jaw tightened.
There was something in his tone that almost made me pause, almost, but I had come too far now.
“So what?” I shrugged. “It’s not the end of the world, you’re not really going to let her fall prey to the like of Jason, are you.”
His gaze flicker, and his jaw tightens. “It’s not your problem.”
Oh… Caelum, dear, can you be less difficult.
“It could be,” I said. That got his attention.

Chapter 6
There was a look of suspicion dancing in his eyes as he frowned. “What does that mean?”
1 straightened slightly. Here we go.
“It means,”my voice was calm. “you need something I have.”
He blinked, looking lost”What.”
“And I need something you have.” I add, ignoring how confuse he looked.
“I highly doubt that.” He scoffs.
Look who has grown a pair of wings
Ignoring his attitude, I smiled. “You’re good at school, I’m not. I need help.”
“That’s funny,” he said dryly. “Because I already said no.”
“Yes, and that was before.”
“Before what?”
“Before I realized I could help you too.”
Suspicion once again flickered across his face. “I don’t need your help.”
“You do,” I said simply. “You just don’t want to admit it.”
“I’m not having this conversation.”
He turned slightly, like he was about to leave, but stepped forward. “Caelum.”
He stopped, slowly. “What?” he said, not turning around.

I took a breath “And here’s how I think I can help. I need you to tutor me in practically everything you’re good at, but you need a little tutoring in practically everything I’m good at. So, here’s my offer: you tutor me in school, and I tutor you in sex.”
Silence, complete and utter silence.
Then he turned, very slowly. The look on his face, shock didn’t even begin to cover it, his face flushes red again. “Are… you serious” he asked, his eyes flickered with disbelief, embarrassing and insecurity.
Oh poor, Caelum.
Poor thing
“Yes.”
“That’s your solution.”
“It’s a good one, and you know it.”
He let out a short, disbelieving laugh. “No. It’s not.”
I frowned slightly. “Why not?”
“Because it’s insane.”
