A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6667

Soul Burial Valley went quiet.

The celestials exchanged uneasy looks. Fear sat clearly on their faces.

The demonic cultivators watched them like wolves. Arcane implements glowed in their hands, ready to strike at any second.

Corvin stood at the front.

His red-gold eyes remained fixed on Jared, and too many emotions moved through them at once.

He knew the situation had slipped out of his control.

On both sides of the valley, celestial and demonic cultivators faced each other under crushing tension. Wind swept between the black cliffs, rolling gravel across the ground, yet no one moved.

Jared had made his meaning clear.

Corvin Skyreach had to stay.

The others could leave.

Ronan Thunderfall was the first to understand the opening.

The lightning around him dimmed a little. He looked at Corvin, then at Jared, then stepped forward.

"Jared, will you keep your word?"

His voice still rumbled like thunder, but the hostility had faded into caution. "If we do not interfere in your grudge with Corvin, will you let us go?"

Jared met his eyes.

"I kill the people who need killing. You followed Corvin here, but he was the one who planned this. Leave now, and I will not stop you."

Ronan was silent for a few seconds.

Then he turned to Corvin and cupped his hands.

"Clan Chief Skyreach, I am sorry. Today's matter is between the Golden Crow clan and Jared. The Thunder God clan has no reason to bury its elites for your private feud."

Corvin's expression changed sharply.

"Ronan Thunderfall, what did you say?"

"You heard me."

Ronan's voice hardened. "When you called us here, you did not say Jared had this kind of influence in the Southern Wasteland Demon Marches. More than three hundred demonic cultivators are surrounding us. You want my people to die with you? Your life matters, Corvin. So do the lives of the Thunder God clan."

He no longer looked at Corvin.

"Thunder God clan, follow me."

The Thunder God elites exchanged glances, then quickly followed Ronan toward the valley exit.

The demonic cultivators opened a path.

No one blocked them.

Corvin clenched his fists until his knuckles cracked.

Rage burned through his eyes.

"Ronan Thunderfall! You faithless coward. You agreed so readily before, and now you run at the first sign of danger? Is this the courage of the Thunder God clan?"

Ronan did not turn back.

His voice drifted from farther down the valley.

"Clan Chief Skyreach, take care."

Corvin shook with anger.

Before he could explode, the lord of Holy Light Palace spoke as well.

"Clan Chief Skyreach, Ronan is right. The situation has gone far beyond what we were told."

His voice stayed calm, but his decision had already been made. "The disciples of Holy Light Palace cannot die in vain for the Golden Crow clan's private grudge."

He turned to Jared and gave a slight nod.

"Mr. Chance, we were reckless today. Farewell."

Then he led the disciples of Holy Light Palace out after the Thunder God clan.

Once those two major forces left, the rest of the celestial leaders made their choices quickly.

Some apologized to Corvin before departing.

Some turned away without saying a word.

Some did not even dare look back.
