Beneath the fury was a hint of barely perceptible fear.
It was the fear of his body being forcibly transformed into an unfamiliar structure, a sudden sense of panic and weightlessness that came from nowhere.
Yelias looked troubled. "I’m afraid it’s too late..."
"Limbs are already starting to hatch from your tail. You’re about to turn into a cute little rabbit."
"Don’t be so nervous. Susu will love you!"
Li Chenlin was so furious he wanted to unleash his spiritual power and destroy the entire ward. But his body felt drained of all strength. No matter what he tried, the spiritual power within him wouldn’t budge, refusing to obey his commands.
Lu Tingyan crossed his arms. "Alright, what’s the point of struggling? You’re becoming a rabbit. Not only will we not look down on you, we’ll even go easy on you from now on. You should be secretly thrilled."
Li Chenlin retreated in terror. "No... No..."
His slit pupils were bloodshot. "Get away! I don’t want to become a Rabbit Beastman! I don’t want to!"
Overwhelmed by emotion, Li Chenlin was seized by a fit of rage and passed out.
When he woke up again, he was lying on a bed with an IV needle still in the back of his hand.
Li Chenlin hastily ripped the needle out.
"Tsk." An annoyed sound came from nearby.
Li Chenlin whipped his head around warily, only then noticing Lu Tingyan working at a desk beside him.
He shot up, his pupils narrowing into slits as he released his spiritual power to enter his Beastification State. But his power was greatly diminished; it was nothing like it had been before.
His drastically reduced strength made him look like some kind of chimera—not soft and cute like a little rabbit, but also lacking the might and speed of a Snake Beastman.
His face went pale, and his glare at Lu Tingyan was so intense it could draw blood. "Lu Tingyan, I’ll kill you!"
Lu Tingyan set down the documents in his hands. "Is becoming a Rabbit Beastman really that hard to accept?"
Li Chenlin was furious. "Why don’t you try it?!"
Lu Tingyan said, "You seemed to handle it just fine when you were trying to turn Susu into a Snake Beastman."
"How is that the same?" Li Chenlin blurted out.
Lu Tingyan stared at him intently. "What’s different?"
Without a second thought, Li Chenlin said, "I was doing it for her own good!"
Lu Tingyan scoffed. "For her own good, or to satisfy your own selfish desires?"
He paused, watching Li Chenlin with a leisurely air. "Speaking of which, I’m doing this for your own good, too. Why aren’t you thanking me?"
Li Chenlin’s pupils contracted. He seemed to understand something.
Lu Tingyan didn’t twist the knife any further.
Li Chenlin had developed his current tyrannical and arbitrary personality because he grew up with a mentally disabled mother.
He was used to making every decision for his mother, as her intellectual disability left her without even the most basic judgment for many things.
As a result, he grew accustomed to doing things his own way, taking an aggressive stance to make decisions for his mother and keeping her protected behind him.
He extended this same approach to Bai Su, but it obviously didn’t work out very well.
Lu Tingyan continued, "Even a Level 9 male like you panics when faced with being transformed, having your habits altered, and your body internally changed. Have you ever considered how terrified Susu must have been?"
The room fell completely silent.
After what felt like a long time, Li Chenlin’s hoarse voice broke the silence. "Then what should I do...? Susu... she’ll never forgive me."
Lu Tingyan’s mouth twitched. "When you do something wrong, you apologize. Do I have to teach you such common sense? You really think I’m your father?"
Bi Yue declared, "I’m going to open a male host club!"
Bai Su: "..."
Bi Yue said, "My dad and I were just about to make up, but when he heard I wanted to open a male host club, he threw me out again! He even ordered everyone in the Bear Clan not to speak to me. Don’t you think he’s being childish?"
Bai Su’s smile became strained. She suddenly asked, "When you told your dad you wanted to open a male host club, did he not ask you why?"
Bi Yue replied, "He did!"
Bai Su sucked in a sharp breath. "And what did you say?"
Bi Yue said, "I just told him that I never knew how great male hosts were, but ever since you took me that one time, a whole new world has opened up for me! I’ve found my new purpose and direction in life."
"I’m dead set on opening this host club! And I won’t just open one—I’m going to open them all over the country, and then take the business worldwide!"
The rolling pin in Bai Su’s hand fell to the floor with a CLATTER.
Bi Yue heard the noise and asked, puzzled, "What was that?"
Bai Su pressed a hand to her forehead, speechless. "Nothing..."
Just then, the servant led the visitor in. When Bai Su saw Li Chenlin walk through the door, she couldn’t help but freeze for a moment.
Bi Yue was still chattering on the other end of the line. "So yeah, my dad kicked me out. Bai Su, you’ve already helped me once, can you help me one more time? I don’t have money to open a host club. Can you lend me some? It doesn’t have to be a lot, thirty million will do!"
Bai Su wasn’t paying attention to what she was saying and just mumbled, "I have a visitor, I’ll call you back..."
Bi Yue stared at her disconnected call, completely baffled. "She hangs up the second I ask for money?"
She couldn’t help but grind her teeth. "You damn woman! When I open my host club, you’re not getting any discounts!"
Li Chenlin stood there awkwardly, at a complete loss. "Susu, I came to apologize..."
