The men were roughly thrown out of the city.
The livestream chat was filled with curses.
[Bai Su is so fucking disgusting.]
[Not only is she disgusting, she’s also outrageously stupid. She doesn’t actually think she looks cool doing this, does she?]
[Her side is full of useless females to begin with. The few males who stayed to protect them should have been treated like kings. And she dared to kick them out?]
[What can you say? Just enjoy the show. She’s still trying to maintain that old persona of hers. A simp for the females. Ptooey!]
[I thought Bai Su’s rock bottom was leading the females to band together and stay in the Snow Country. I never expected she could top that by kicking out the only males they had left...]
[What do you expect from females? They’re brainless. A move like this is pretty normal for them.]
Of course, the city gates weren’t heavily guarded, and a few more males slipped away.
When Bai Su found out, her face showed no particular expression.
’Good riddance. The city will be cleaner this way.’
Exhausted, she returned to her room to find Lu Tingyan already washed up and sitting on the bed, reading some documents.
Bai Su stretched, then pounced onto him. "Lu Tingyan..."
"Alright, coming right up." Lu Tingyan rolled over, pinning her beneath him. He was already aroused.
Bai Su paused, stunned, before letting out an exasperated laugh. "That’s not what I want!"
Lu Tingyan froze. "But you were being all cute and cuddly."
Bai Su said, "...I was not."
Lu Tingyan replied, "You pounced on me."
"I’m just exhausted," Bai Su said. "I only wanted a hug."
"That’s it?" Lu Tingyan asked.
"That’s it," Bai Su confirmed.
Lu Tingyan opened his arms in disappointment. "Alright, then. Come here for a hug."
But his tail and ears drooped.
Bai Su suddenly burst out laughing, amused by him.
She contentedly buried her face in his broad chest, letting out a sigh as the rich scent of agave enveloped her.
Bai Su looked up. "Okay, I want it now."
Lu Tingyan’s tail instantly started wagging excitedly again. As if afraid she’d change her mind, he said, "I’ll be gentle. I promise I won’t hurt you."
Bai Su blinked. "I want to go for a ride on the rocking ride."
Lu Tingyan instantly flushed.
"But I’m too tired," Bai Su added. "I don’t want to move."
Lu Tingyan’s eyes lit up, but afraid Bai Su might change her mind, he forced himself to act calm so he wouldn’t seem too eager. "Don’t worry," he said. "You can ride for as long as you like."
Bai Su lifted her head from his chest, looking at him with anticipation. "So, can you rock me to sleep?"
Lu Tingyan’s eyes darkened, and his Adam’s apple bobbed. "Of course. As long as you can manage to fall asleep."
Bai Su pushed her luck. "But I haven’t showered yet. I’m too tired and lazy to move."
Lu Tingyan was very accommodating. "I’ll wash you."
He scooped her up with one hand under her bottom, holding her like a child. He settled her securely in the crook of his arm, her body limp against his chest.
Bai Su let out a long sigh, finding a comfortable position in his arms and relaxing completely.
But a voice suddenly echoed in her mind. ’Host, are you sure you don’t want to consider having another child? You’re both Level 10. You’ll get more golden points as a reward for having a baby.’
’I... I have,’ the System said, its voice defensive.
’A woman who becomes a god of her plane just by taking the shortcut of having children—is she truly qualified for her divine post? Did the world under her rule change for the better?’
’...Well, no,’ the System admitted.
Not only had they not improved, but in some planes, seeing a female ascend to godhood through childbirth only encouraged others to do the same.
The competition to have children became an intense rat race, with many females becoming so obsessed that they only cared about quantity, not quality.
This led to population explosions, but with a disregard for the ’quality’ of the people. Several planes descended into chaos because of it.
But it was undeniable that they had, in fact, ascended to godhood!
’So,’ Bai Su said, ’since I have another way to achieve godhood, why must I rely on childbirth?’
The System was speechless.
’So, from now on, don’t try to sell me on the Childbirth Pill when I’m in the mood.’
The System asked timidly, ’Are you angry?’
’No,’ Bai Su replied. ’It’s a turn-off.’
’...Oh.’
In truth, the System had sensed this host’s strength through Bai Su’s transformation and her actions, but it had never given it much thought.
It had instinctively lumped her in with all the other weak, pliable hosts it had guided in the past.
Even when it noticed she was different, it had carried on with its work out of habit, tirelessly recommending the Childbirth Pill over and over, determined to brainwash her.
If Bai Su hadn’t called it out tonight, it would have just kept going, following its ingrained work habits, even though it had a vague sense that its usual methods weren’t suitable for this particular host...
The System cautiously observed Bai Su’s expression, wanting to make peace with her.
When they were first bound together, their relationship had been quite good. They had been like good friends who could talk about anything.
