The butler hurried forward. "Miss."
Qin Nuo backhanded him across the face. "What kind of job are you doing? The Medical Alliance defected to Snow Country, so why didn’t you tell me?"
The butler replied, "My apologies, Miss. I only just found out myself."
Qin Nuo slapped him again. "Useless! What do you do all day? You can’t even keep an eye on people!"
The butler clenched his fists. "I’m sorry, Miss. It was my dereliction of duty."
His submissiveness appeased some of the anger in Qin Nuo’s heart.
The butler was an old man who had watched her grow up. If not for the mountain of problems she was facing today, she wouldn’t have taken it out on him.
Qin Nuo raised her head haughtily. "Forget it. I won’t hold you accountable for your failure this time."
"Now that the people from the Medical Alliance are gone, they must have left some medicine, canned food, and nutrient packs behind. Send someone to their base to retrieve them."
The butler’s mouth twitched, but he still nodded respectfully.
’The people are gone. How could they possibly leave behind important food and medicine?’
’Picking up trash is more like it.’
Another soldier came running over. "Miss!"
These days, the sound of someone running over in a hurry made Qin Nuo’s heart pound. "Now what?" she asked, exasperated.
The soldier said, "The females in the city have contracted an infectious disease and are in urgent need of medical treatment."
"A lot of soldiers have been infected, too."
"Mr. Qin and Mrs. Qin have already rushed over. They told me to inform you and have you go take a look."
Hearing that her parents had been alerted, Qin Nuo was overwhelmed with anger and anxiety, and with a roll of her eyes, she fainted.

Bai Su had just been discharged from the hospital when she saw Leia descending from the sky.
Leia threw herself at Bai Su, her face alight with excitement.
Startled, the surrounding soldier-guards all raised their guns and aimed them at Leia.
After all, Leia was an internationally infamous madwoman-assassin. Her superpower was Steelification, the kind that allowed her to grab thin air and materialize a gun to blow someone away at a moment’s notice.
The last time Leia showed up at the hospital, she had scared the daylights out of everyone.
They had originally thought the person visiting Bai Su was Wen Xiaobao, so they hadn’t paid much mind.
When they later heard it was actually Leia, they were nearly chewed out by their superior for their poor security, letting someone swagger in as if they were strolling through their own backyard.
They never would have guessed that the legendary Leia, a name that struck terror in all who heard it, would look almost identical to Duke Bai Su’s young daughter.
Only now, seeing Leia leap from a helicopter, instantly solidify steps in mid-air, and walk down them, did they confirm that this was, in fact, the assassin.
Everyone tensed up, their guns aimed at Leia’s head.
Following her down was Xiao Yi.
And then Luo’an.
Everyone’s vision went dark.
’What is going on?’
’The whole evil leadership of the Medical Alliance is here?’
’No one told us there would be a summit with such a serious lineup of leaders today.’
Bai Su waved her hand. "It’s fine. No need to be nervous."
Leia managed to lift her face from Bai Su’s thigh, glancing at the others with a hint of excitement in her eyes. "You guys wanna have a shootout with me?"
Everyone: "No, no!"
’Are you kidding? A shootout with Leia?’
’Her bullets have a 100% hit rate and they track you, okay?’
’Who would be suicidal enough to get into a shootout with a madwoman?’
Once they confirmed Leia meant no harm, the crowd grew even more astonished.
Leia was shamelessly clinging to Bai Su’s leg, whining, "You have to take me in! I brought the entire Medical Alliance to pledge allegiance to you! If you drive me away, I’ll kill you all!"
Bai Su’s mouth twitched. "Defection is fine, but you have to follow my rules here. No pulling out a gun to kill people at the drop of a hat."
"Ah..." A troubled look crossed Leia’s face.
Bai Su said, "If you can’t do that, I won’t let a dangerous element like you into the city. That would be irresponsible to everyone else."
Leia gritted her teeth. "Fine..."
However, there were no clean, empty houses for them.
If they wanted to live in the Imperial City, they would have to repair dilapidated buildings and find their own places to stay.
In the crowd, Luo’an and Yelias’s gazes met from afar, but they quickly looked away.
To celebrate Leia’s defection and Bai Su’s discharge from the hospital, Yan Qingya had the chefs prepare a magnificent feast.
Lu Tingyan and the other three were also there.
The little rascals were all there, too.
And then there were the three bigwigs of the Medical Alliance, plus Li Yue, who had snuck over at some point to freeload.
No one thought much of it.
What surprised Bai Su, however, was how exceptionally familiar Wen Xiaobao was with Leia and Xiao Yi.
The little one didn’t sit with her brothers, but ran over to Leia’s side instead.
At first glance, anyone who didn’t know better would have thought the two of them were twin sisters.
Bai Su was very happy today and even had a little to drink.
When the party ended, Leia was dead drunk and had to be carried away by a resigned Xiao Yi.
Lu Tingyan and Li Chenlin also returned to their rooms with their respective Clones.
The little ones were also happy. Their auntie had finally returned to their big family.
Only Yelias, unnoticed in a corner, drank cup after cup of alcohol.
Luo’an just watched him quietly, eyes filled with cold indifference.
Yelias: "You..."
Luo’an suddenly stood up. "There’s no need. From now on, let’s just pretend we don’t know each other when we meet."
Yelias: "...Alright."
Luo’an turned and left the table.
Only Yelias remained at the long dining table, drinking one glass after another.
His figure looked lonelier than ever before.
