Betrayed by the Father Reborn in His Rival's Arms novel Chapter 101

Her demeanor lacked the arrogant certainty she had swaggered in with. The child had been taken away, stripping her of her only leverage. Wasn't that exactly what the Whitman family intended?

Only now did Liliana Lansbury finally feel the sting of the crowd's contemptuous, mocking stares.

After all her scheming, she was left with absolutely nothing. She had thought she held the Whitman family's lifeline in the palm of her hand, but in reality, they couldn't have cared less.

Arthur Whitman stared at Liliana, his eyes, set deep within his wrinkled face, practically oozing with frost.

When Liliana had caused that massive scene at his birthday banquet earlier in the afternoon, Arthur had immediately pegged her as bad news. He had discreetly contacted some veteran executives in the group and uncovered the real reason behind Whitman Tech's collapse.

It hadn't been phased out by industry upgrades; it had been driven into the ground by this greedy, idiotic woman.

Arthur knew perfectly well just how much destruction a foolish woman could cause. He was well-versed in history—tales of Helen of Troy plunging a nation into war or Cleopatra seducing empires were clear as day in his mind.

That was the true source of Arthur's fury. Liliana had endangered the very foundation of the Whitman legacy.

"You aren't a Whitman, so I have no place disciplining you on behalf of your parents. But you are a woman of incredibly low character and vile morals. Keeping you by Lucius's side is a disaster waiting to happen. Not only are you capable of these disgraceful public stunts, but who knows how many more underhanded, disgusting tricks you'll use on men in the future? If Lucius has even half a brain, he'll toss a woman like you as far away as possible.

Lucius, I'm asking you. Are you willing to get rid of this shameless, despicable woman? You said you were going to send her abroad, but I don't just want her sent away. I want your guarantee that she will never show her face here again."

Arthur's words left no room for negotiation. Lucius actually knew perfectly well that Liliana only dared to pull these stunts because he had enabled her. No matter how hopelessly stupid she acted or how massive a disaster she caused, he had never once reprimanded her. That was why she had the sheer audacity to wreak havoc at the Whitman Estate.

Now that the truth was out, the elder Whitman could see from her blatant arrogance that she had Lucius wrapped tightly around her finger.
