Betrayed by the Father Reborn in His Rival's Arms novel Chapter 74

Victoria had transferred all the projects from Madeline's computer last time.

She figured that since Madeline had betrayed the Whitman Group, she would hit a dead end out in the real world, so Victoria wanted to keep the files for her own use.

Shortly after, she heard internal rumors that Lucius had declared anyone who dared to hire Madeline would be making an enemy of the Whitman Group.

But just days after her smug victory, she heard that Madeline had snatched away Lightning Interactive. Watching the engineers around her being forced to resign, there was no way Victoria was going to give up her golden seat.

She had invested too much in Liliana. Aside from treating her to regular meals and drinks, she had even gifted Liliana an expensive Chanel bag worth tens of thousands of dollars. Seeing a promotion on the horizon, getting laid off now would be a massive loss.

Her mind raced. Now that Madeline had secured Lightning Interactive, she was definitely moving abroad. Why would she care about some random little side project left on her hard drive?

So, she presented the product to Lucius. Sure enough, Lucius didn't fire her. Instead, he gave her a hefty hush-money bonus and promoted her to chief engineer.

She had been living it up, calling the shots at the company every single day.

She dreamed that once they secured funding at the summit, she would instantly become the head of a multi-billion-dollar project.

The summit had ended, and just as expected, Lucius summoned her.

Victoria opened the door and strode in, her head held high.

A few seconds later, she realized the atmosphere was entirely wrong.

Liliana's eyes were red as she glared at her, while Lucius's expression was incredibly dark. He didn't even glance her way.
