Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 158

It rang for a long time before she finally answered.

Furious and deeply betrayed, Ivy asked in an icy tone:

"Where the hell are you?"

Hazel stammered, taking ages to get the words out:

"I... I'm near the hotel."

"Get your ass to the hotel entrance right now."

Ivy hung up, faintly hearing Patrick's agonizing screams echoing from inside the room.

She didn't want to know what Summer was doing to him.

Even though it was none of her business, Summer was literally committing a crime.

Grabbing her phone, Ivy dialed 911.

After the police arrived and took her statement, she saw Hazel finally show up.

Ivy marched over, dragged her sister away from the hotel, and slapped her viciously across the face.

The blow knocked Hazel's head to the side, and she stood there with her head bowed, weeping pitifully.

"Hit me all you want. I only did it for your own good."

Ivy glared at her, her face flushed with absolute rage.

"For my own good? Do you have any idea that I'm a married woman? Setting me up in a hotel room with another man—do you realize the kind of damage that's going to do to me?"

"Hazel, tell me right now, why did you help him? Are you two best buddies or something?"

She had only introduced Patrick to her sister twice.

Realistically, they shouldn't even know each other.

They shouldn't even have each other's numbers.

Why was her own flesh and blood helping a complete stranger ruin her life?

The heartbreak was crushing; Ivy came dangerously close to breaking down in tears multiple times.

Sobbing heavily, Hazel confessed:

"Patrick gave me fifty thousand dollars to lure you out. He said you've been miserable since you married that old man, getting tortured every day and treated like a slave."

"He wanted to elope with you and promised me he'd treat you right forever. I believed him. Plus, Gemma is sick and needs the cash, and Mom and Dad need money too. So I took the cash and set up the meeting."

Staring at her sister's swollen face, Hazel assumed Patrick was the one who had hit her, crying even harder from the guilt.

"I'm so sorry, Ivy! I messed up! Please don't be mad at me. I'll give you all the money Patrick gave me, I won't keep a single cent."

Frantic, she pulled out her phone to transfer the funds to her sister.
