Was she seriously waiting for him out front on purpose?
But he hadn't even told her he was coming home tonight.
Alaric was thoroughly bewildered by Ivy's erratic behavior.
Sitting on the bedroom sofa, listening to the relentless sound of running water from the bathroom, his mind was a chaotic mess.
He silently cursed himself for being an absolute animal.
Over the past few days, those intense urges had clearly begun to fade.
So why did one simple hug from Ivy, followed by the knowledge that she was showering nearby, instantly trigger such an aggressive physical reaction?
It seemed he was genuinely desperate for another taste of the ecstasy he had experienced before.
Whatever.
If Ivy was going to make the first move, he might as well indulge her.
As long as she fulfilled her duties as a wife, he would satisfy any demand she had.
Ivy finished her shower and wrapped herself tightly in a towel, staring at the mirror to ensure the bruises on her face were completely hidden before finally opening the door.
Stepping into her plush slippers, her skin a luminous white, she stood before him with her face flushed crimson in sheer embarrassment.
"I'm done. You can go wash up."
Alaric lifted his gaze to look at her.
It only took a single glance for his blood to boil, a feverish heat radiating through his entire body.
Even his breath hitched.
Naturally, Alaric couldn't see his own face, which was flushed as red as a roaring fire.
A second later, he shot up, giving Ivy a wide berth as he swiftly ducked into the bathroom.
Ivy grabbed a hairdryer and quickly dried her hair.
Then, she dimmed the lights, casting the room in a sultry, warm amber glow.
She turned off all unnecessary lighting, drew the heavy blackout curtains, and firmly locked the bedroom door.
Ivy knew exactly how despicable her actions were.
But before Alaric inevitably threw her out, she wanted to indulge herself completely, just this once.
She would treat it as repayment for everything he had secretly done for her over the past few weeks.
