He walked straight into the dining room and sat down, expecting to be served like some ancient emperor.
Ivy quickly set out his plate and silverware.
Still unwilling to sit at the same table, she turned around to busy herself elsewhere.
Alaric watched her behavior with visible annoyance.
But he was too proud to swallow his ego and ask her to sit down with him.
He just felt that with someone like Ivy, the nicer you were to her, the more entitled and demanding she became.
Alaric barely ate anything before preparing to leave.
Ivy quickly stepped forward and asked,
"Could you drop me off at the hospital on your way? I need to deliver this food to Stella."
She knew Alaric was definitely heading to the hospital.
Riding in the same car would give her a chance to ask about Stella's condition.
Alaric pressed his lips into a tight line. He was fully intending to reject her coldly, but somehow, against his better judgment, he agreed.
Ivy hastily added,
"Give me just a few minutes, I'll clean off the table and be right out."
Alaric felt a surge of impatience, but stubbornly sat in his car and waited anyway.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Leo peeked at his boss's face, which looked as frosty as if someone owed him millions.
He couldn't resist speaking up.
"Boss, the Mrs. probably didn't lose the young miss on purpose. I heard that she didn't know we found her last night, and she searched the hospital alone all night, crying her eyes out."
Alaric shot Leo a glacial glare, his tone dripping with acidic jealousy.
"You seem to care about her a lot. Keeping tabs on her every move, are we?"
Leo practically jumped, realizing he had overstepped again, and immediately snapped his mouth shut.
Just then, Ivy scurried out of the villa carrying a lunchbox, tactfully sliding into the back seat.
She hadn't realized Alaric's assistant was driving.
