Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 209

Ivy was definitely regretting her decision.

But seeing Mr. Foster walk away without so much as a backward glance—or even a half-hearted attempt to convince her—crushed her resolve.

How could she shamelessly tag along now?

For all she knew, his invitation had just been empty politeness, and he never actually wanted her there in the first place.

Ivy gloomily sat down to eat her breakfast.

A few minutes later, a video call popped up on her screen.

Ivy picked up her phone and was stunned to see it was from the girl she had met earlier.

They had exchanged contacts just last night.

Not wanting to seem rude, Ivy hesitated for a moment before answering the call.

On the screen, Maisie's gorgeous face appeared. "Secretary Sawyer, we're heading to the beach! Why aren't you coming with us?"

"Hurry up and change. We're waiting for you at the hotel entrance."

Giving Ivy zero chance to decline, Maisie ended the call.

Ivy sat frozen.

That girl had personally called to invite her?

If Ivy stayed behind, wouldn't it give the girl the perfect opportunity to spend alone time with Mr. Foster?

Why would she...

Before Ivy could finish the thought, Leo asked from the sidelines, "Did you think Ms. Miller has a crush on the Boss?"

Ivy felt a pang of guilt, but she didn't deny it.

Leo chuckled. "Relax. Ms. Miller sees the Boss strictly as an older brother. She'd never have romantic feelings for him."

He nudged her gently. "Now hurry up and finish eating, then go change. Don't make them wait downstairs."

Ivy pouted. "I didn't bring any beach clothes."

Leo laughed again. "The Boss had some delivered for you first thing this morning. Go check your bedroom."

Ivy's eyes widened in shock.

She practically sprinted into the master bedroom.

Sure enough, a sleek shopping bag sat squarely on the large bed.

Inside were three stunning resort-wear dresses perfectly suited for the ocean.

A sudden wave of warmth washed over Ivy's chest.

Thinking about what Leo had said, and remembering the girl's enthusiastic phone call, Ivy stopped overthinking and quickly changed.

She chose a gorgeous blue-and-white tie-dye slip dress, styling her hair into soft French braids.

Topping it off with a woven sun hat and slipping into cute sandals, she headed downstairs to the stretch limousine waiting at the hotel entrance.

Inside the limo.
