Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 216

Hearing this, Ivy's face immediately flushed crimson.

She quickly pulled her arms back and rolled over to create some distance.

Thinking he had upset her, Alaric closed the gap, wrapping his arms around her from behind and pressing his lips near her ear.

"I didn't say you couldn't hold me. I just meant don't grip me so tightly."

This was the first time Ivy had ever been spooned by him. The intimate contact sent a scorching heat rushing through her veins, leaving her completely tense.

She held her breath as her heart hammered violently against her ribs.

"I'm actually feeling pretty warm myself. Maybe we should just sleep apart."

"Oh?"

Alaric didn't let go. Instead, he began pressing soft kisses against the nape of her neck and her earlobe.

"If you're feeling hot, want me to help you cool down?"

They hadn't done anything last night.

And tonight, he was definitely in the mood.

After all, the whole point of bringing her along on this trip was to have her available whenever he wanted her.

Besides, he had originally planned to stay here for an entire week.

"I can't. I still feel a little nauseous. It's probably because I forced myself to eat earlier."

Ivy still rejected the advance.

She genuinely felt unwell.

The last thing she wanted was to accidentally throw up in his mouth while they were kissing. That would be completely mortifying.

Alaric didn't push the issue. He simply pulled her snug against his chest.

"Alright, let's just get some sleep then."

Ivy turned her head slightly to look at him. "Are you going to get mad and kick me out because I wouldn't sleep with you?"

Alaric frowned deeply. "Kick you out to where? You just said you're sick. If I actually got mad over that, what kind of animal would I be?"

He reached up and gently ruffled her hair. "Stop overthinking everything. If you're not feeling well, just rest."

"Okay."

Ivy gave a soft murmur of agreement, snuggling deeper into his embrace and resting her head on his arm as she drifted off to sleep.

She slept straight through the rest of the night.
