All day long, Ivy Sawyer refused to return to The Starlight Estate.
Alaric Foster called her once, but she ignored it.
Alaric was too busy hunting down Elena Sinclair to settle the score, so he couldn't be bothered with Ivy anyway.
Elena knew her scheme was exposed, and since she hadn't succeeded, Alaric would never let her off the hook.
So, she went into hiding.
Unable to track her down, Alaric was forced to swallow the humiliation of being drugged, vowing to tear her apart once he found her.
Seeing that Ivy hadn't come home for two days.
And hadn't even checked on Stella.
Alaric felt a suffocating weight in his chest; after leaving the office, he went straight to Metropolitan General to find her.
Ivy had just stepped out of Gemma's room and entered Ethan Foster's room to change his dressings. There, she spotted Alaric sitting on the sofa nearby. Dressed in a bespoke gray suit, he looked aloof and unapproachable, radiating a freezing aura.
A sharp pang hit Ivy's chest.
Pretending not to see him, she kept her head down and focused on tending to Ethan's wounds.
Ethan whispered to her,
"Alaric is acting like a psycho. He's been sitting here for half an hour without saying a word, glaring at the wall like someone owes him millions. You'd better not poke the bear."
Ivy couldn't help but steal a glance at the man.
She scoffed inwardly. What right did he have to be in a foul mood?
Did he really think he could just sweep his filthy actions under the rug?
Or maybe he didn't even want to hide them at all!
Otherwise, he wouldn't have blatantly brought that woman home and slept with Dr. Sinclair while she was gone.
The memory of what she saw that night tore at her heart.
Several times, she had fought the impulsive urge to bring up the divorce again.
But remembering that Gemma had just transferred to Foster Medical Center, with exorbitant medical bills piling up, she knew she couldn't act on emotion.
She had to endure this so Gemma could continue receiving the best possible care.
"Once this IV bag is finished, you can get some rest. Try getting out of bed and moving around a bit," she instructed Ethan.
