Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 64

"Uncle Alaric, a woman like her is already married and still trying to seduce Patrick! You have to warn him before Ivy completely ruins his life!"

Hearing his niece's words, Alaric felt as though a knife had been plunged into his chest, twisting deeply with every syllable.

The continuous blows left him feeling utterly defeated.

In the eyes of these young twenty-somethings, was he already considered an 'old man'?

He was only thirty-two. Having a five-year-old daughter was perfectly normal, wasn't it? How did that make him old?

Looking at the transaction receipt glaring on his niece's phone, an inexplicable wave of fury washed over him.

"That's enough. Get out. And don't ever set foot on this property again."

Summer was baffled by his sudden outburst.

"But you have to let me go back to the hospital first! And get my boyfriend a job at Foster Group! If you don't, I'm going to come here every single day!"

"Get the hell out."

Alaric didn't spare her a single glance of pity, refusing to entertain her threats as he strode purposefully into the house.

Summer tried to sprint after him.

His assistant quickly intercepted her, physically shoving her out of the courtyard.

Upstairs.

Ivy peeked out from behind the heavy curtains, silently observing the entire scene.

Seeing that Mr. Foster had refused to let the woman inside and had actually kicked her out, a profound wave of relief washed over her.

Then again, it seemed Mr. Foster wasn't just a tyrant toward her.

He was apparently ruthless to everyone.

Maybe it was just a severe personality defect.

She mentally noted to lower her expectations of him from now on.

"Mommy, what are you looking at?"

Noticing Ivy staring intently out the window, and thinking she had heard her daddy's voice, Stella's big eyes widened with curiosity.

"Nothing."

Ivy stared at the child. She knew Stella was just a little girl who didn't understand the complexities of the adult world.

But hearing the words spoken out loud still made her squirm with embarrassment, a deep blush rushing to her cheeks.

Feigning distress, she hugged Stella's little arm and pouted playfully.

"Does that mean you don't want me to sleep with you anymore? But I can only fall asleep when I'm right next to you!"

Seeing her mommy look like she was about to cry, Stella sighed heavily, exasperated by the whole situation.

But she refused to let the matter drop.

Later, while they were eating dinner in the dining room, Stella looked up from her plate and spoke directly to Alaric:

"Daddy, starting tonight, you and Mommy need to sleep in the same bed, okay? Everyone at preschool says their mommy and daddy sleep together."

Remembering Ivy's excuse about not being able to sleep alone, she quickly added:

"But Mommy says she can only fall asleep if someone is keeping her company. So when you sleep with her, you have to cuddle her arm and play with her ears, got it?"

Hearing this, both adults froze in stunned silence.
