Then, right in front of Ayla, Troy stripped off all his clothes.
Instinctively, she looked away.
Only now did Troy realize something. Even though they were husband and wife, they had never really been close. When they were intimate, he had often been rough and impatient. It usually happened in the dark, and neither of them had ever truly taken the time to look at the other.
Troy was tall and broad-shouldered, with a lean, powerful build. Five years older than Ayla, he naturally carried an imposing presence.
He said nothing. He quickly washed away the alcohol, perfume, and lipstick marks, then changed into a bathrobe.
His damp hair hung loose, and he couldn't be bothered to style it.
Troy was one of the best-looking men around. Normally, his cold expression kept people at a distance. But now, fresh from the shower, he looked more relaxed than usual. Without the hair gel holding it in place, his hair fell naturally over his forehead, making him seem far more approachable.
He walked over and crouched in front of Ayla, looking up at her.
Unable to endure that intense gaze, she quickly looked away.
Troy had never really paid attention to Ayla while they were married. It was only after the divorce that he started noticing her. As a result, he realized he had no idea how she used to react around him when they were together.
The woman who had hated him with all her heart in his previous life now blushed under his gaze and couldn't even bring herself to look at his body.
The realization softened his heart completely. Standing up, he extended a hand. "Give me your hand."
Troy remembered that Ayla had always loved holding his hand. The only times he was quiet and gentle with her were when he was sick and needed someone to take care of him. Only then would he stop looking at her with cold indifference. At those moments, she would quietly hold his hand, palm against palm, savoring that brief warmth.
His outstretched hand was something Ayla had never been able to resist. After a brief hesitation, she finally placed her hand in his.
Troy gently took it and led her out of the bathroom.
Just as they were about to leave, Ayla suddenly spoke. "Aren't you going to dry your hair?"
The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted them. Despite everything, she still found herself worrying about him, even though she had already decided to divorce him.
Troy looked at her. "So you still care about me, don't you?"
Ayla couldn't answer. Three years of habits couldn't disappear overnight. Besides, she had originally planned to use the divorce waiting period to move on. But now, there wasn't even a divorce agreement anymore. Without one, they couldn't proceed with the divorce application.
Still, she was determined to leave him eventually.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
