Chloe thought for a moment more. "If it’s inconvenient for anyone to come today, tell them they can come by ten o’clock tomorrow."
Chloe didn’t want to make things difficult and was trying to be considerate of the applicants.
Hearing Chloe’s words, Aaron Archer breathed a sigh of relief.
He had been worried that because Chloe was young, she wouldn’t handle things well. It seemed he had been overthinking it.
"Okay, I’ll go inform them now."
Chloe nodded. "I’ll go wait in the lounge. Call me when they arrive."
Aaron Archer glanced at the man standing behind Chloe.
The man’s aura was too powerful. From the moment he had walked in, Aaron hadn’t dared to look him in the eye.
So he quickly agreed, "Okay."
Chloe sat in Jasper Shaw’s break room for a little while, and Ian Winters delivered a number of items.
Chloe took them all.
Jasper Shaw sat in his chair, looking over documents, occasionally lifting his eyes to glance at Chloe.
Suddenly, the phone on his desk rang.
He frowned. He didn’t want to answer it.
But as soon as the call was silenced, another one came in seamlessly right after.
Even Chloe noticed something was wrong.
She glanced at Jasper Shaw, her eyes filled with confusion. "Why aren’t you answering your phone?"
Jasper Shaw hesitated for a moment, said, "Excuse me," and took his phone outside.
A moment later, Jasper Shaw returned, a hint of irritation in his eyes. "Chloe, I have a meeting to attend."
Chloe froze.
She stared at Jasper Shaw. Seeing his grave expression, she grew worried and couldn’t help but ask, "Did something happen at the company?"
Jasper Shaw: "No."
Chloe: "..."
She didn’t believe him.
