Chloe Sinclair nodded and went downstairs, where she sat on the sofa to watch TV.

Jasper Shaw must have really been busy, as he didn’t come downstairs until half an hour later.

He froze for a moment when he saw Chloe Sinclair watching TV by herself downstairs, then quickly hurried down to join her.

"Why are you here by yourself?"

"Grandfather was a little tired," Chloe Sinclair explained. "He’s resting in his room now."

After she spoke, she looked up at Jasper Shaw and asked, "Are you finished?"

Jasper Shaw nodded.

"What do you want to eat? I’ll go make something for you in the kitchen."

Jasper Shaw knew Chloe Sinclair had left in a hurry that morning and hadn’t had time to eat breakfast.

So, before Chloe Sinclair could even reply, he went into the kitchen himself. He took a bundle of dried noodles from a cabinet and pulled a piece of lean meat and some leafy greens out of the refrigerator.

"How about some noodles?"

Chloe Sinclair was about to say that it was almost lunchtime, but seeing Jasper Shaw already getting started, she swallowed her words.

"Okay," Chloe Sinclair said, then asked, "Are you having some?"

Jasper Shaw was about to say he wasn’t hungry, but when he turned and saw the look in her eyes, the words on the tip of his tongue changed. "I am."

Sure enough, Chloe Sinclair looked pleased. "I’ll help you," she said.

Jasper Shaw didn’t refuse. "Alright."

Half an hour later, a simple dish of Saozi noodles was ready.

They hadn’t made a large portion, just enough for one bowl each, and they finished eating in less than five minutes.

Chloe Sinclair felt a pleasant warmth in her stomach, and it was very comfortable.

"Are you heading back after this?"

After they finished eating, Jasper Shaw took the bowls to the kitchen.

Chloe Sinclair looked up and nodded. "Yes, I’ll go to the company with you. It’s a perfect chance to see what the new office looks like."

She had been back for a few days but still hadn’t found the time to go see her company.
