Chapter 446: Chapter 440: Red Cap, White Stalk

He must have been processing the whole thing.

It wasn’t until Chloe Sinclair glanced at the time and said, "Gabriel, I’ll take you out to find some food."

"Where would there be any food?"

Gabriel Sinclair had already spent the entire afternoon searching. Forget meat; he hadn’t even found a single vegetable leaf.

"Forget it. I asked Simon Lawson, and he told me the production team is providing breakfast tomorrow morning."

With that, Gabriel Sinclair stood up and said regretfully, "I’ll just get up at eight tomorrow. I can go to bed early tonight so I won’t feel hungry."

Chloe Sinclair was speechless.

She grabbed Gabriel Sinclair, who had already walked through the door intending to lie down and play dead until morning, and pulled him back.

"I have a way."

Chloe Sinclair led Gabriel Sinclair to the edge of a small stream. "There are fish and crabs in here," she said.

The stream was surrounded by a lush, dense bamboo forest.

The thick bamboo, combined with the dimming light, made it hard to see any movement in the water clearly.

However, you could still make out the pebbles at the bottom.

Chloe Sinclair overturned a rock and happened to find a crab.

"See?"

Gabriel Sinclair’s eyes lit up, and he quickly handed her the bucket he was holding.

Before long, the two of them had caught a good number of crabs and fish.

As they were about to leave, Gabriel Sinclair spotted a cluster of mushrooms growing by a crack in the rocks. They looked vibrant and tempting, and he swallowed hard. "Chloe," he proposed, "how about we pick some of these mushrooms to take back? I heard the mushrooms in Yarrow are especially fragrant."

Chloe Sinclair followed Gabriel Sinclair’s gaze.

Little red caps, little white stems.

Good grief. The sight of those mushrooms instantly reminded her of that addictively catchy song from ten years in the future.

Seeing Gabriel Sinclair leaning in so close his eyes were almost touching them, Chloe Sinclair could only tug on her brother’s sleeve and say helplessly, "Those are poisonous."

Gabriel Sinclair scratched his head. "How do you know?"

Chloe Sinclair, however, simply turned to face him, her expression calm and serious.
