Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 81

Chapter 81

The helicopter hovered midair. The valley floor was covered in snow and massive boulders. There was no way to land safely.

Gavin released the rope and dropped cleanly to the ground. The moment his boots hit the snow, he rushed toward Chris.

He pulled off his coat to hand it over, but froze when he saw that Chris’s light–colored shirt was soaked through with blood.

The cliff had been jagged rock. No one could fall that far without injury. Even though Gavin had prepared himself for the worst, the sight still made his stomach drop.

Chris was hurt that badly, and he was still holding Winter.

Gavin quickly draped the coat over Chris’s shoulders and reached for Winter. “Sir, you’re seriously injured. Let me carry her.”

Chris didn’t loosen his grip. Instead, he tightened his arms around the woman in his chest and rose to his feet. His legs were stiff, and when he took a step, his body swayed dangerously.

Once inside the cabin, Chris pressed Winter’s hands against a heating pack while Zac moved in to treat the gash on her forehead. Fortunately, the emergency kits onboard were well–stocked, and Zac managed to find some fever reducers.

Just as he was about to administer the medicine, Chris suddenly moved.

Gavin was in the middle of using tweezers to extract a splinter of wood embedded deep in Chris’s wound. Even with Gavin’s lightning reflexes, the sudden movement caused the metal tip to jab directly

He lowered his gaze to the unconscious woman in his arms.

“The man had a simple background. His only target was her. There is no way he planted that much explosives in advance.”

“You think someone else was involved?” Zac’s expression darkened. Chris was right. Something about

this didn’t add up.

Driven by a doctor’s instinct, Zac reached out to touch Winter’s forehead to see if her fever was breaking.

But before his hand could make contact, a slender, blood–streaked hand swatted him away.
