Chapter 115
(Daisy’s POV)
At some point, I realized I had been pacing.
Not metaphorically.
Literally pacing.
Back and forth across the living room like I was guarding the apartment from invisible attackers.
I stopped abruptly in the middle of the room and stared at myself internally.
What was I doing?
I exhaled hard and dropped onto the couch.
The apartment was quiet. Too quiet. And somehow that made everything worse.
Because now there was nothing distracting me from my own thoughts.
Which, unfortunately, had become traitors.
I leaned back slowly, rubbing my palms against my jeans.
Why was I sweating?
Seriously.
Why?
It wasn’t even that hot.
My gaze drifted toward the window, then back to nothing as Aria’s voice replayed itself in my head.
I’ll make sure he doesn’t leave without fucking me…
I grew an irritated expression at once.
God.
The sentence somehow sounded worse the more I remembered it.
And the worst part?
She had actually succeeded.
DeLuca had gone.
Which meant right now-
No.
I cut the thought off instantly.
I sat forward abruptly and rubbed my face.
Maybe nothing was happening. Maybe Aria had exaggerated. Maybe DeLuca wasn’t even interested in things like that.
But then again… what if he was?
I frowned slightly.
Because technically, I didn’t know him that well.
Not fully.
Sure, he is calm. Reserved. Annoyingly composed. But that didn’t automatically mean he isn’t the type to secretly sleep around while acting emotionally unavailable and mysterious for aesthetics.
Actually, that sounded exactly like something a man who looked like DeLuca would do.
Which was irritating.
And ridiculous because it had absolutely nothing to do with me.
I sat up straighter immediately.
Exactly.
It has nothing to do with me.
If DeLuca wanted to sleep with half the female population of Westbridge University, that was his business.
Not mine.
I didn’t care.
I absolutely did not care.
I pointed at myself suddenly.
