He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 164

Chapter 164

“I honestly pasted it one your door

‘I believe you.”

“No, seriously.” I pointed toward his room. “I remember standing outside your door and sticking it there. I remember thinking I was being dramatic by even putting it there.” I said, remembering.

*I remember standing there for like two minutes wondering if I should knock.”

DeLuca watched me. ‘I believe what you’re saying but I never saw it.”

I rubbed a hand over my face. “This is actually insane. I announced. Because it was.

There was no explanation for it. Letters did not simply grow legs and walk away. At least they weren’t supposed to.

My gaze dropped toward the paper again, and that was when another issue came into my thoughts.

“The video.”

DeLuca’s jaw tightened almost immediately. The reaction was small, but I saw it.

“About the video,” I continued carefully.

“You don’t have to explain.”

“Yes, I do.”

‘I don’t want-

“No.” I shook my head. “Because it wasn’t what it looked like.”

His expression remained neutral now. Or at least it tried to.

I pushed forward anyway. “I ran into the hallway crying.” The admission felt embarrassing. “I was overwhelmed and emotional, and honestly not thinking clearly. Archer saw me, stopped me, and tried talking to me. Then I cried even more, which was already humiliating enough. My cheeks warmed.

“And then he hugged me.”

DeLuca remained silent.

“It wasn’t romantic. It wasn’t anything. I folded my arms. He saw someone crying and reacted, after which we broke apart.”

DeLuca nodded once. “Okay.”

That was it.

No further interrogation. Just okay, and oddly enough, that made me feel better.

The settled again; and for a few seconds neither of us spoke. Then I frowned. “Actually…”

DeLuca looked at me.

“Who even took that video?” I asked myself. “There was nobody there. At least nobody that I noticed.”

I thought back carefully, replaying the memory in my head. Because it didn’t just make sense that someone would do that and edit it; that portion of it, to look like something was going on in it.
