He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 255

Chapter 255

Nancy couldn’t reveal the truth.

“Then stay on,” Vance said firmly. “Ask for whatever you need. You’ve done a wonderful job and deserve @ raise.”

“But…”

“She’s only gone for a month.”

He had checked the troupe’s European tour and confirmed the duration. Nancy stayed quiet, knowing better

“Shall I bring the food in, or would you rather come to the table?” she asked, deciding to stay another month until the divorce was final.

She couldn’t spill the beans now and risk ruining Rebecca’s plans.

Vance couldn’t eat in bed. Though he wasn’t hungry, he wasn’t the kind of man to indulge his whims.

“I’ll eat in the dining room,” he said.

“Understood,” she replied, heading out to the dining room, where Cecilia had already set the table.

Vance came out and noticed the extra person.

Nancy pulled Cecilia close to her and urged, “Say hello to Mr. Bradford.”

“Hello, Mr. Bradford,” Cecilia said shyly, knowing her spot at the elite school was thanks to him.

“I’m sorry for the trouble,” Nancy said. “I planned to pack and leave today, so I brought Cecilia to help.”

Vance brushed it off, sitting down.

“It’s summer break, right?”
