He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 276

Vance stood beside her, his jaw tight. “What are you talking about? Is she wrong? She means well. How can you mock her like this?”

Catherine tugged at his sleeve, looking timid. “Vance, don’t talk like that. She’s just in a bad mood. You need to understand her.”

Vance fell silent, looking daggers at Rebecca.

Catherine chattered on, “Vance, come on. She spends every day with those dancers, but she can’t dance like before. It definitely makes her sad.”

Memories she wanted to forget resurfaced. She had been trying to avoid them, but they just wouldn’t let her go.

“I gave the dolls to you, didn’t I?”

“Did you? I don’t need to verify who it was really for, but I never liked dolls.”

Vance was rendered speechless.

“I know,Catherine cut in. “I know Rebecca loves dancing.”

Catherine continued, “But you don’t have to torment yourself like this. I know my sudden return pressures you, making you worry I’ll take Vance away. After all, in terms of looks, education, and personality, I am better. And you only know how to dance. But now, even that…”
