Juniper spent the entire morning in a distracted haze. Sick of the drama, she finally blocked Brooks's number.
She was moving today, and under no circumstances could her toxic family know her new address.
She briefed Yara on the situation. Yara fully supported the move and swore a blood oath never to leak Juniper's location.
Yara was absolutely disgusted that Beatrice had taken the millions of dollars so easily. It was sick.
A text pinged from Caleb, sending the final address for The Willow Creek Studio so she could do a walkthrough.
Splashing some cold water on her face, she grabbed an Uber and headed over.
The new location was heavily secured, secluded, and beautifully renovated.
She called Caleb immediately to confirm. This was the place.
Plagued by guilt over the hotel incident, Caleb tried to compensate. "Like I said, the owner is a buddy of mine, so the rent is practically nothing. I'll transfer a few staff members from the auction house to help you run the operations. There's a spare room you can take over. The neighborhood is exclusive, and the security grid is top-tier. It's incredibly safe for a single woman."
Juniper was floored. She double-checked just to be sure. "Caleb, are you absolutely positive I can live there rent-free?"
Hearing the raw hope in her voice, Caleb pinched the bridge of his nose, his conscience eating him alive.
"Yeah. We only need three rooms for the live-stream setup. The master bedroom is yours. The firm will cover the lease. Consider it a... a sign-on bonus for stepping up to the plate."
Juniper had been stressing over finding a cheap apartment. Caleb had just saved her life.
"Thank you so much, Caleb! I swear I'll work twice as hard!"
Caleb hung up, feeling like absolute scum. Almost immediately, his phone buzzed again. It was his mother.
She was sobbing hysterically, screaming that Gideon Xavier was launching a hostile takeover and they were drowning.
No matter how violently Caleb fought back, he was watching his birthright get ripped from his hands.
Gideon clearly had massive financial backing from a shadow player; otherwise, the board wouldn't have handed him executive power this fast.
