Sinclair POV
After securing the fence and making sure everything is back online, Kaia and I completed the configurations of the gloves. We tested it, and it worked perfectly. It’s now ready for production.
“I texted Thalia. She is excited. The parts need to be produced here, since you have the right metal ores for the glove. The techs at Blackstone will assemble. No one gets the schematic of the completed process. Since you have a mole here, we need to produce two parts at a time.”
“Black Enterprises has the chips, capacitors, and materials for the technical components on a mass scale. I will get a shipment sent to Blackstone,” Kaia said.
“Okay. Next on the list is this tracker. I’m willing to bet Roddy is spot on that this is Julian’s doing, but I want to see if there is any way to track the end user that installed it. Something this advanced would have to leave a signature.”
“Did you ever think our abilities would be used to stop and win a war?” Kaia asked.
My fingers stopped typing. I looked at her. “Thalia told me once that the Moon Goddess said there would be casualties on both sides. It feels ominous, and for the first time, I am scared, Kaia. I’m scared of who we are going to lose and what is going to be left of our world when this war is done.”
Kaia grabbed my hand. “If something happens to me, promise me that you will look after Isaiah and Titan, Sinclair.”
“Only if you promise the same for me, Kaia.”
“Deal.”
“Deal.”
We hugged each other, and I made a mental note to ask Thalia the same thing. I don’t think she is going anywhere. She has to give birth to nine pups, and she said she is not having any more until after this war.
I turned my attention to the tracker again. While I’m running diagnostics, Kaia asked me. “Have you thought of names yet?”
I smiled, placing my hands on my stomach. “Adrian and I have thought of several names.”
“What are you two leaning towards?”
“Honestly, they are all good names. Phoenix and Pixie, Irene and Ian, Andrew and Arianna, and so many others, but Adrian said we are going to continue discussing.”
“Just don’t name your son Paul, Conrad, Chad, or Diego,” Kaia said seriously.
I laughed. “Hell no.”
Kaia grabbed my hands. “I’m so happy for you, Sinclair. If anyone deserves to be happy and loved, it’s you.”
“You and Thalia deserve it just as much.”
My laptop starts pinging, and when I looked at the monitor, I smiled widely. “There is a signature. It’s not completely cracked yet, but it has broken through the first firewall undetected.”
“How are you able to get this information? I don’t understand?”
“There is a satellite signal linking to these trackers. Once the signature is identified, I am going to switch the tracker to find that person, instead of Roddy.”
“Why not just bring the guy down?”
“Alright, I will. We probably have another hour before I can get through the rest of these firewalls.”
“I will get some food brought to us. You need to eat, Sinclair. Trust me, the dry heaving sucks. Plus, I love the tiny baby bump you have. If Adrian is anything like Isaiah, then he won’t be able to keep his hands off you when you get bigger.”
“I’m noticing my pants are getting a little snug.”
“Then I see shopping in our future.”
I laughed as she left to get food. By myself, I continued working on the tracker when Adrian linked me.
‘Are you coming to the dining hall for lunch, little sin?’
‘No. I am in the middle of working on the tracker. Kaia is getting food for us.’
‘I’m going to add that to your list, then. Not taking care of yourself and my pups.’
‘Oh, please, you already have four items on your list. I’m collecting it tonight.’
‘What other offenses have I committed, little sin?’ he asked teasingly. He clearly likes this game.
‘You’ll find out tonight, my bliss.’
