Sinclair POV
The next morning, after I ran diagnostics, I got breakfast in the dining hall. Everyone was looking at me curiously. I’m not sure why, but it doesn’t look hostile, so I brushed it off.
Once I began eating, I noticed that Angelo walked in. He has a black eye. What the hell happened to him?
“Angelo?”
He stiffened immediately and went to sit at another table. What the actual fuck? I grabbed my plate and moved to where he was sitting. I sat in front of him, and he looked scared at being seen with me.
“Start talking,” I said.
“I can’t associate with you anymore unless it’s in the lab,” he said, frightened.
“Why?” I asked.
“Luna, please,” he said with his eyes pleading.
“Luna? I’m not the fucking Luna.”
Just then, the dining hall opened, and Julian walked through the doors. He saw me talking to Angelo, and his eyes turned angry. He walked towards me and tampered with his temper.
“Sinclair, you should sit with me moving forward.”
“Why? Why is everyone looking at me curiously? Why did Angelo call me Luna? Why is he not allowed to speak to me?” I demanded loudly.
Julian’s eyes darkened at being questioned. Well, tough shit. I don’t give a fuck.
“You are to be my Luna. I have decided it, Sinclair. You are exactly how a Luna should behave. Gracious, kind, forgiving. The kind of woman I want by my side,” he said. “I will have your things moved to my room while you are gone.”
A level of fury I didn’t know I possessed rose inside of me. “JULIAN! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!”
My outburst clearly shocked him. I am so angry; I don’t care. He has crossed a major line.
“Listen up, everyone! I am NOT your Luna. I am not Julian’s mate. I am only a contractor! Once my job is completed, I’m out of this fucking place!” I snarled and then leveled my eyes at Julian. “Did you hurt Angelo? You saw me having a conversation with him and joking around, and you all of a sudden felt threatened? Are you that weak!?”
Julian’s eyes turned golden. His wolf is trying to break through, but I don’t give a shit. How dare he try to force me to be his mate?!
“Sinclair!” he yelled. “This is not the time or place to argue with your mate!”
“YOU ARE NOT MY MATE, JULIAN!”
