His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 344

"It's getting late. I don't want to talk about this."

She turned to leave.

Her evasion caused the last string of Archer's rationality to snap.

He grabbed her wrist and forcefully yanked her back into his arms.

"Virginia!"

He stared at her eyes, her lips. Reason and desire violently wrestled within him until, finally, reason surrendered completely.

Cupping the back of her head, he crushed his lips against hers.

The kiss was laced with punishment, punishing her, punishing himself. It was brutal and desperate.

He forcefully invaded her senses, his large hands gripping her waist so tightly it felt as if he might break her in two.

Virginia couldn't break free, the oxygen in her lungs slowly draining away.

Her brows knotted tightly. She raised her hand, and with a sharp slap, struck him across the face.

Archer's head snapped to the side, and several red marks rapidly blossomed on his left cheek.

He froze, turning his head back to look at her in sheer disbelief.

Panting heavily, Virginia stood rooted to the spot.

Her lips were swollen and red. She pressed them together, raised a hand to wipe the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand, and looked at him with absolute calm.

"Excuse me, I'm tired. I'm going to sleep." With that, she brushed past him and headed straight upstairs, her retreating figure looking slightly hurried.

Archer remained standing in that exact posture long after the master bedroom door clicked shut.

The guest room door on the first floor cracked open, and Miles poked his head out.

He hadn't intended to eavesdrop, but the entire scene in the living room had played out right before his eyes.

He coughed awkwardly, waiting until Virginia's silhouette disappeared before stepping out entirely.
