Though Valentin had been out of the country recently, he was well aware of everything happening with Virginia. Naturally, he knew exactly who this newly recognized brother was and the massive waves he had caused on the internet.

"Then I won't hold back." Miles waved the waiter over and pointed at the menu. "Cancel the creamy mushroom soup and the seafood platter Mr. Hunter just ordered. Swap them for the clear chicken broth and the steamed greens."

The waiter froze, glancing hesitantly at Valentin.

Valentin slightly raised a brow.

Leaning back in his chair, Miles casually spun his water glass, a playful smirk on his face. "Mr. Hunter probably doesn't know, but Virginia is allergic to dairy and hates seafood. Archer issued strict orders at home. None of that stuff is allowed on the table, just in case the smell makes her nauseous."

It went without saying exactly who "Archer" referred to.

Silence descended upon the table for two seconds.

Virginia picked up her lemon water and took a sip, offering no rebuttal.

She was indeed allergic to dairy and disliked seafood, but as long as there were other dishes available, she wasn't the type to complain or make a fuss about it.

Valentin's expression shifted briefly before he curved his lips into a polite smile. "That was my oversight. Please, go ahead with Miles's changes."

Over the next half hour, every time Valentin attempted to spark a conversation, Miles relentlessly derailed it.

"Virginia, I heard you recently..."

"Virginia, you said you wanted to come to my concert yesterday. How many front-row tickets should I reserve for you?"

"There's a medical summit next month..."

"Mr. Hunter, that shirt looks really familiar. Looks a lot like the limited-edition one Archer wore the year before last."

No matter how refined Valentin's manners were, he could clearly see Miles was deliberately targeting him.

He set his cutlery down and wiped his mouth with his napkin, perfectly timed with the ringing of his phone.

Glancing at the screen, he stood up. "My apologies, there's a situation at the company that needs my immediate attention. Lunch is on me today. Virginia, let's reschedule for another time."
