I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 313

Sienna struggled to pull away.

He wasn't using much strength, but it was just enough leverage to keep her trapped.

Unable to break free, her squirming eventually ceased when she noticed his chest heaving violently, as though he had exhausted every last ounce of energy.

She stopped fighting.

Jorrod was panting, looking as if he were in physical pain. He rested his forehead heavily on her shoulder, his ragged, scalding breaths burning through the thin fabric of her shirt and searing her collarbone.

"Sienna," his signature raspy voice dropped into a desperate, soul-baring plea, "don't leave. Please?"

He had said these exact words before.

The difference was, back then, he was begging her to come back to him.

Now, he was merely begging her not to leave Aurelia.

The air in the narrow hallway thickened, charged with the sheer, obsessive intensity of a man refusing to let her go.

Sienna looked at him. "But I don't love you anymore."

The moment the words left her mouth, she felt his large frame go completely rigid, his breath snagging in his throat.

It was a truth Jorrod had already accepted.

Yet hearing her say it out loud was entirely different.

He could numb his mind, but he couldn't trick his ears into believing it was just a hallucination.

Jorrod slowly lifted his head.

Sienna didn't back down, tipping her chin up to meet his intensely burning gaze.

"Jorrod, I don't love you anymore."

Her voice was unnervingly calm, packed with an absolute, brutal finality as she repeated the words, using his full name.

As the silence stretched out for a few seconds, Sienna found herself deep in thought.

She wasn't mulling over his plea.

Instead, her mind raced.

She had spoken to Jacqueline recently about memory recovery therapies, learning how tedious and generally ineffective they were.

The doctor had explained that the human brain was incredibly complex. Unlike setting a broken bone, neurological therapies were merely supportive; there was no targeted cure, no magic pill.

If trying to recover his memories became Jorrod's daily obsession, over time, it might redirect his hyper-fixation away from her.

He was a busy man. Maybe he'd eventually just give up on his own.

For the first time, Sienna offered a concession. "Jorrod, if you can remember everything before my final day at the company, I'll give you a chance."

"But until then, we are cutting all contact."
