I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 323

It was Maeve Thorne.

She was holding a small, fluffy white bunny in her arms, its long ears drooping lazily as it nestled quietly against her.

Maya's eyes instantly locked onto it. Her little hands gripped Sienna's shirt, her whole body leaning forward as if she were about to launch herself out of the booth.

Seeing Maeve caught Sienna off guard.

She offered a polite nod.

"Maeve."

Maeve barely glanced at her, her piercing gaze fixing entirely on Silas.

"We need to talk. Just you and me. It's urgent."

Sienna clearly heard the dismissal in her tone and looked over at Silas.

Silas gave a subtle nod.

She stood up and took Maya's hand.

"Maya, let's go play over there for a bit."

Maya dragged her feet, constantly looking back, her eyes glued to the little bunny.

Maeve held the bunny out. "Let her play with it."

Sienna accepted the rabbit, and Maya instantly pulled it into her arms, burying her face into its soft fur, her eyes crinkling into joyful little crescents.

Sienna led her to a booth a short distance away, ordered a glass of juice, and sat down.

They were close enough to observe Maeve and Silas, though the conversation remained completely inaudible.

Sienna watched closely. Silas was treating Maeve with an unusual level of deference.

A man of Silas's caliber rarely showed that much respect to anyone.

She remembered how Maeve had casually recommended her to Mercy International, knowing she had serious clout.

It seemed her influence went far deeper than Sienna had ever imagined.

After about thirty minutes of intense conversation, Maeve stood up.

"Alright, then it's settled."

She turned to leave, pausing as she walked past Sienna's table.

Clutching the bunny, Maya reluctantly lifted it up, offering it back with both hands.

"Here you go. Thank you."

Maeve looked down at her. "Do you like it? Keep it."

Maya's eyes went wide.

"Really?"

Maeve nodded.
