I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 36

Bonnie looked at him and asked abruptly, "The person who reported me for practicing without a license... was it you?"

Parrish's gaze faltered for a second.

In that single instant, Bonnie understood.

It really was him.

Parrish didn't look the least bit guilty. Instead, his tone grew even colder. "If you had a license, you wouldn't be afraid of getting reported."

"Bonnie, you always claim you're so skilled, but you can't even obtain a basic license. A hospital isn't a rental apartment. It's not a place where you can just play doctor with a few folk remedies and some acupuncture needles."

The color slowly drained from Bonnie's face.

Those words pierced her heart deeper than any insult.

It wasn't that she hadn't tried.

She had applied time and time again, taken the exams over and over, only to be blocked by malicious interference every single time.

But in his eyes, the paths that others had viciously destroyed were nothing more than proof of her incompetence.

Parrish looked at her pale face, a flicker of something complicated crossing his eyes.

But that emotion was quickly crushed beneath his indifference.

"I never realized your jealousy had inflated to this level."

His tone was like he was reprimanding an ignorant child.

"Since this all started from that night at the hotel, I'll make it clear to you today. It was Seraphina who helped me recover my memory."

"You constantly brag about how amazing your medical skills are, but you treated me for three whole years and never managed to restore my memory. Yet Seraphina only used two needles, and I remembered everything."

"Bonnie, admitting you lack ability isn't shameful. But insisting on playing these petty, underhanded tricks is just pathetic. It only makes me look down on you even more."

In that moment, Bonnie felt as if her chest had been struck by a blunt object. A suffocating wave of despair and pain crashed over her, leaving a thick lump in her throat.

So he had never believed in her medical skills, nor had he ever truly understood her.

He had enjoyed three years of her treatment and care, yet dismissed all her efforts as pure incompetence.

And now, he had the nerve to stand in front of her and use the credit Seraphina had stolen to humiliate her.
