I Was His Wife, Then His Widow, Then No One's But My Own novel Chapter 327

Nora stared at him, utterly appalled. "Me? Aggressive? That's rich coming from you, Mr. Fletcher. You laid a trap, smiled while I walked right into it, and now you have the nerve to play the victim. I bet you felt incredibly proud of yourself."

Finnegan didn't feel proud at all. He already felt immense guilt toward Nora, and he couldn't bear to let Seraphina down too. This was his only desperate compromise.

He let out a heavy sigh and opened his mouth to defend himself.

Nora cut him off, her voice cracking like a whip. "Let me make this perfectly clear. If your company insists on diverting these funds and forcing an infringement on my intellectual property, we terminate this partnership immediately!"

Finnegan's pupils dilated in shock. "You're terminating? Think very carefully about this. Can you actually afford the breach-of-contract penalty?"

Nora met his gaze with absolute zero warmth. "We can handle the penalty. But since your side acted in bad faith first, we will immediately file a countersue. We will hold you accountable for unilateral breach, intentional stalling of our medical trials, and the total loss of our preliminary research investments. The damages we seek will far exceed any penalty fee in that contract. I think we can afford it just fine."

She stepped closer, her voice ringing out through the silent room. "Furthermore, I will hand over every shred of evidence regarding your bad-faith contract manipulation and malicious fund diversion to the market regulatory authorities. How Fletcher Group's stock will be affected by a federal investigation is something the board can weigh for themselves."

Felix immediately backed her up. "Every single piece of correspondence and financial record regarding this partnership has been archived. If Mr. Fletcher insists on a legal battle, we will gladly obliterate you in court. Compared to a petty penalty fee, Fletcher Group's public credibility is worth billions."

He paused, sweeping a cold look over the executives. "I suggest the board rationally weigh the pros and cons. Do not let one man's personal vendettas destroy the entire corporation's bottom line."

Without giving anyone a chance to respond, Nora and Felix grabbed their files, turned on their heels, and walked out.

The boardroom plunged into a suffocating, terrifying silence. Finnegan's expression was murderously dark. Not a single director dared to breathe too loudly.
