Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1004

Amos fell silent.

The moment Evan threatened his life again, he no longer dared argue.

How was Amos supposed to guarantee something like that?

Stella was a living, breathing person, not some toy he could lock away whenever he wanted.

“Fine, fine. I’ll have Remi eat and sleep in the same room as her.”

Apparently, everything he had just explained had gone in one ear and out the other.

Reasoning with Evan clearly was not going to work.

“Oh, by the way, Felix has been investigating you.”

Evan’s expression immediately darkened.

“Does he know I’m alive?”

“Probably not. I think he realized I wasn’t the only force involved in taking down Litt.”

“Didn’t Stella hire people too?”

Technically, Amos had not acted alone. Stella had hired additional forces as well.

“I think Felix sensed three separate factions.”

Evan fell silent.

If that was the case, Felix was trying to uncover exactly who had been operating behind the scenes.

“Leave him alone,” Evan said coldly.

He and Felix had once been close.

Now, because of Stella, they had become bitter enemies.

If Felix had merely fallen in love with Stella, Evan would have had no one to blame but himself for losing his own wife.

But Felix had put her life in danger.

That was the one thing Evan could never forgive.

Amos left.

Evan remained alone in the room, his brow tightly furrowed and his mind clouded by exhaustion.

No one knew what he had endured in the operating room.

All he had been able to think about was Stella.

Litt was dead now.

No one should be threatening her life anymore.

But whenever Evan thought about how the Hogarth family had treated her, he still could not relax.

There had been countless moments when his consciousness had nearly slipped away, yet he had forced himself to open his eyes again.
