Chapter 837

People used to say Felix had ng interest in women.

No one had ever seen anyone by his side.

So when he began showing an interest in Stella, everyone assumed it was because she was special.

But apparently, that was not true,

It was because there had always been someone else in his heart.

Someone who had died.

Stella gave a cold laugh.

“So that’s it. No wonder you’re helping Summer.”

If there had not been someone Felix could never let go of, why else would he protect Summer?

Stella did not want to say another word to him.

She turned and started upstairs.

“I don’t have some dead woman I can’t get over.” 2

Stella stopped.

He did not?

Then what had that silence meant?

“But can you forget Summer?” Felix asked. “Please.”

Stella froze again.

This time, she did not turn around.

She stood on the stairs and closed her eyes.

“So the one month you asked for really was just to hold me off while you made arrangements and sent her somewhere no one would know her, right?”

Evan had clearly looked into everything before coming to Eirden.

Felix suddenly protecting Summer was the kind of thing anyone would investigate.

And Evan had gotten to the truth before Stella had.

“Stella.”

“Don’t even think about it.

She turned back to face him, her stance firmer than it had ever been.

Felix said nothing

Her expression was colder than ever.

The disappointment in her eyes was exactly the same as the disappointment she had once hocked with

Stella did not say anything more.

After that, Evan had disappeared.

Felix’s face darkened further.

He ended the call.

Then he dialed Evan’s old number.

It did not go through.

So he called the number he had seen on Stella’s screen earlier.

He had memorized it.

This time, the call connected.

After only two rings, Evan answered.

Felix spoke first.

“If I were you, I’d stay hidden in Seaborne. There are too many people outside who want you gone

“I can’t,” Evan said. “Your intentions toward Stella aren’t clean. I’m worried about her.”

The way he said worried about her was deliberately intimate.

Felix gave a cold laugh.

“What do you even have left, Evan? What exactly can you do for her?”

“So you really do have an agenda,” Evan said mockingly.
