Chapter 863
Stella glanced at Felix but did not answer.
“Stella.”
She ignored him and walked away.
The sun was shining brightly that day.
But to Stella, the sky felt covered in dark clouds.
At the shooting range, she practiced all morning.
She performed exceptionally well.
Even Leah commented on how much she had improved.
Stella said nothing in response to the praise.
It was not until noon, when she finally stopped, that she called Gray.
“Did you deliver the package to Felix?”
“Yes. Just as you instructed.”
“And everything inside was prepared properly?”
“Don’t worry. It was handled.”
“Good.”
A faint smile touched Stella’s lips.
They wanted Summer back?
Fine.
She could give them a box.
Over at Felix’s place, he stared at the urn in disbelief.
Stella had always seemed gentle and soft-spoken.
But the things she did could border on madness.
He called her immediately.
Stella answered.
“I gave her back to you,” she said with mocking amusement. “So don’t come asking me for her again.”
Even through the phone, Felix could picture the expression on her usually gentle face.
She really was…
“You’re lying,” he said coldly.
She had sent him an urn.
But he refused to believe Stella had truly ended Summer’s life.
“Believe whatever you want. I’m sure the contents can be tested to see whether they belong to her.”
Stella did not know whether ashes alone could establish identity.
But she had instructed Gray to place several of Summer’s personal items inside.
If Felix investigated, the evidence would still point to her.
Felix’s breathing turned cold.
Clearly, Felix still refused to believe Stella had truly done such a thing.
But the box was sitting right in front of him.
It was difficult not to doubt.
With anything else, Stella might not have gone this far.
But Summer had exhausted every last trace of her patience.
Now that Summer had fallen into Stella’s hands, there was no telling what might have happened.
Jack nodded.
“Yes, sir.”
He immediately went to determine whether the remains truly belonged to Sumfeer.
For the first time, Jack fully understood how frightening Stella could be.
No.
It was not the first time.
He had seen it clearly when she brought down the Wright family.
She appeared gentle and composed.
But beneath that softness was an unshakable ruthlessness.
It emerged most clearly whenever she faced the Wrights or Summer.
And this time, Felix was standing in her way.
The fact that Stella had not turned that ruthlessness directly against him was already a form of restraint.
