“I don’t know.”

"What do you mean you don't know?" Mina said, pushing herself up off the bench, now standing with her arms folded and stare at me with a look that was starting to be suspicion. "You said you need to show me something. How do you not know what it is?"

"I'll show you."

"I'm not doing this, Sera. Whatever it is."

I stepped around her to the door, trying not to meet her eyes.

"You need to get out of this room," I said. "You haven't been out of it since he left."

Mina scoffed, behind me. "What business is that of yours?"

"You do have to eat," I said, and turned to face her. "You haven't been down to the kitchens. You've been living off water, and that won't cut it."

"So what's the plan here?"

"The plan is to feed you and then show you this thing. Get up."

She stared at me, arms still crossed. "I swear to the gods if this is something stupid, I'll be mad at you."

I rolled my eyes. "Come on then, let's get this done with. Don't be dramatic."

Mina was quiet a long moment, and I thought I would have to take her by the arm. But she let her arms fall and sighed.
