Chapter 270
Raphael
“Delete it,” Gianna snapped, her voice sharp as she scrambled to pull her white shirt back over her shoulders. She was shaking, her fingers fumbling over the buttons, her eyes darting to the wall of monitors as if they were live grenades about to detonate, “Right now, Raphael. Wipe the drive. Everything.”
I stayed seated, leaning back into the chair with confidence. I took my time, methodically cleaning myself before tucking myself away and zipping my pants.
“No,” I said, as I met her eyes, amused.
“Are you insane?” She hissed, stepping toward me, her face pale. She shoved her skirt into place, her knuckles white. “You don’t get it. This isn’t a game. This is our lives. If there is a digital trail of this… of us… it’s going to burn everything down. You’re leaving evidence of a big fat secret.”
I smirked, “I’m the one who built this network, Gianna. I know every single packet of data that moves through these servers. I can handle any trail I want. Don’t threaten me with a good time.”
“What if someone sees it?” her voice went up an octave,. She was pacing now, her shadow stretching long across the floor, “What if the IT team does a sweep? What if someone from your family-Vincenzo or his people- decides to audit the office systems?”
I tilted my head, “Why would my family go digging through my private server space? They’re terrified of me, and they stay out of my business for a reason.”
“They’re not terrified enough if they find this!” She grabbed the edge of the desk, leaning over to get in my face. Her chest was heaving. “What are you even going to do with that? Seriously, Raphael!”
I stood up then, and she flinched, but I just walked slowly toward the wall of monitors. I looked at the frozen image of her on the screen, flushed, and breathless.
“I’m keeping it,” I said, “It’s my favorite souvenir. A little reminder of exactly how I fucked my little sister.”
Her face went from pale to a bright, furious red. She let out a choked, disgusted sound, her hand flying up to cover
She looked like she wanted to slap me, but then she just rolled her eyes, a tired sort of amusement breaking through her frustration. “Arrogant prick,” she muttered, shaking her head.
I let out a low chuckle, “A fair assessment,” I murmured, leaning back and watching her with a shark’s grin, “But it’s funny how fast your standards drop when this arrogant prick is the one between your legs.”
“Don’t flatter yourself, Raphael,” she shot back over her shoulder, already retreating toward the back of the office with a sharp flick of her hair, “I was just bored, and you happened to be the most convenient way to kill ten minutes.”
I felt my jaw tighten, a prick of irritation hitting me right where she intended. My ego actually felt the sting of that “ten minutes” comment. It was a lie, and we both knew it, but the fact that she had the balls to say it with such a straight face was what actually annoyed me.
“Ten minutes?” I repeated, “Is that how long you think that was, Mess? I should probably have the IT departmen check the timestamps on those recordings. I’m fairly certain the first scream alone lasted five.”
She didn’t stop messing with my stuff.
