Thinking about being schemed against by these people in her previous life made Noelle so frustrated that she could barely breathe.
Cedric held Noelle's hand. "Ivy does protect Eason very well. He probably doesn't know what she's been doing."
"Then she should have a taste of what it's like to lose something precious," Noelle hissed.
After all, these people had caused her to lose her parents and her only family—her brothers.
Cedric nodded. "Ivy is indeed arrogant, conceited, and self-absorbed. But fortunately, she has weak spots, too. We'll make sure she pays—an eye for an eye."
If Ivy had orchestrated everything from behind the scenes, then all the abuse Noelle endured at the Liddell estate probably had her fingerprints on it. Thinking about the abuse Noelle had suffered before, a cold glint flashed in the depths of Cedric's eyes. He was determined to ensure that Ivy paid a heavy price.
Once Noelle and Cedric finished dinner, they went back to the Greene residence. Since they needed to explain things clearly, it was better to do it sooner rather than later.
Anastasia and Emma had been staying at the Greene residence these past few days, preparing for New Year's. Noelle saw that the Greene residence was decorated, radiating a lively, festive atmosphere.
Anastasia came downstairs and asked, "Why are you back? Have you eaten?"
Noelle replied, "We already ate."
Cedric looked at Anastasia. "Where's Mom?"
"She went upstairs to rest. Did you come back because something happened?" Anastasia could tell immediately that their sudden return definitely had a reason.
Cedric spoke up. "There is something we need to discuss."
Soon, Emma came downstairs, too. When she saw Noelle, she smiled and said, "You're back! I heard your company is on holiday. What a perfect timing! Let's go to the spa. That way, you'll look refreshed for New Year's."
Noelle nodded. "That sounds good."
Emma took a seat on the couch and asked, "So, what's going on? Do I hear wedding bells soon?"
