Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 464

"Never!"

The hoarse but absolute refusal echoed through the damp room.

Duncan's face instantly darkened, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists.

After starving for this many days, this stubborn bastard still wouldn't break. He had underestimated him.

"Fine. Excellent." Duncan narrowed his eyes, his gaze turning icy. "Keep starving them. I want to see exactly where his breaking point lies."

"Boss, actually..." one of the guards leaned in, lowering his voice to suggest, "This Lewis guy clearly values his sister more than his own life. Why don't we use the girl—"

Smack!

A vicious backhand instantly cut off the guard's sentence.

The man stumbled back, clutching his rapidly swelling cheek, his eyes filled with shock and confusion. "B-Boss... why did you hit me?"

"Idiot. Did you think that hadn't crossed my mind?" Duncan sneered, pulling out a handkerchief to wipe his hand. "Because he cares so much, she is entirely off-limits."

He shot a cold glance at Lewis, who was slumped against the wall.

This man would tear through anything like a rabid dog for his sister. If they laid a finger on Quinn, it would forge a blood feud that could never be erased.

He needed a vicious attack dog willing to work for him, not a mortal enemy planted by his side waiting for the chance to rip his throat out.

"Listen to me, all of you. No one touches a single hair on that woman's head. If you screw this up, I'll skin you alive."

"Yes, Boss!"

In the dim cell, Lewis weakly turned his head toward Quinn.

His sister was already delirious, her cracked lips seeping blood. If this dragged on any longer, she would starve to death.

"Quinn, wake up." Lewis forced his body to move, gently nudging her shoulder with his forehead. "Look at me."

Quinn struggled to pry her heavy eyelids open, her gaze completely unfocused. "Lewis... are we... going to die?"

"Don't say that." A strained, painful smile tugged at Lewis's cracked lips. "Ms. Prescott is going to find us. Just like she pulled you out of hell the first time."

"But... this is Highcrest. It's so much bigger than Cloudhaven. Can Ms. Prescott... really find us?" Her eyes were clouded with bitter resignation, her voice as thin as a thread. "Lewis, I'm so tired. I really just want to go to sleep..."
