Chapter 168 The Weakness of Monsters
Fiona stayed silent for a long time.
Steven did not say anything else. He let her figure it out on her own.
Then Olivia’s voice rang out again.
“The second wave is here!”
Steven instantly got ready again. With his spear in hand, not a single beast could get close to the barrier post on his side.
More than thirty level 1 beasts charged at the two of them.
There were all kinds of monsters mixed together.
Ghost–Faced Spiders, One–Tail Scorpion Beasts, Ironbite Ants, and Bloodfang Rats.
Steven shouted coldly. “Kill them!”
Fiona said nothing and rushed forward with him.
Even though she hated admitting it, she still tried to follow Steven’s advice.
She began holding back her power instead of releasing it wildly.
It was like driving in heavy traffic. If you slammed the gas for a short stretch, then hit the brakes hard a second later, you wasted a huge amount of fuel.
But if you controlled the speed carefully, you could save a lot of energy.
At first, Fiona felt extremely uncomfortable. She had always fought with overwhelming force.
Now that she was restraining the power of her Divine Sigil, she could clearly feel her attacks getting
weaker.
Before, one strike was enough to kill a beast. Now it took two hits. Sometimes even thife.
And as she fought, her power would suddenly explode out again without control.
Steven rolled his eyes while fighting.
‘Do you have rocks for brains? What did you even learn in monster combat class”
The sudden scolding made the whole team fall silent for a second
But they quickly went back to fighting
Fiona felt so wronged she almost wanted to cry
He was yelling at her again!

Her eyes turned red.
Steven swung his spear sud blew apart the head of a One–Tail Scorpion Beast, snapping off its tail hook in
the process.
Then he rushed toward Fiona.
In a blink, he was standing in front of her.
“If you keep wasting energy like this, you won’t even last an hour before you’re forced out.
“You think this is the hunting ground?
“This is a battlefield. The fight’s only starting!
“These beasts are only a small fraction of them.”
As he spoke, Steven leaped into the air and thrust his spear forward. The spear pierced straight into the belly of a Ghost–Faced Spider.
With one upward slash, he ripped open its underside, split its head apart, and even exposed the beast crystal inside.
The monster died instantly.
‘The Ghost–Faced Spider’s weak point is its belly. Hit there and it dies easily. Why waste extra power?”
The moment he finished speaking, Steven charged toward another scorpion beast.
Watch closely. Against a Scorpion Beast, break the tail first. If you can kill it in one hit, do it. If not, cripple the claws.
‘These bug–type beasts all share the same weakness. Their joints.”
It’s better to cut one joint than waste ten hits on armor.”
Before Fiona could even react, Steven had already killed the scorpion beast with another clean spear strike.

Fiona threw herself back into battle.
This time, she focused hard on controlling her power.
It felt awkward. Unnatural. But she forced herself to keep going.
Her eyes were red with hurt.
She refused to lose.
If others could do it, then so could she.
She was not some useless pretty face.
One day, she would prove it to everyone. Fiona was more than eye candy.
Wave after wave of beasts kept coming.
Steven had killed so many that he was starting to feel numb.
About two hours seemed to have passed.
He was breathing hard from exhaustion
And Fiona looked even worse.
Once she started controlling her power carefully, the stram on her body became much heavier
Sweat soaked through her clothes.

She had never fought like this before.
Steven smirked slightly and tossed her a stamina orb.
“Take it. If you run out of strength, get out and absorb some divine crystals to recover fast.”
